He has great potential, and he was only a rookie, so I'm not trashing him.

But if he's ever 80 percent of Romo, I'll be thrilled.
fair enough, just thought releasing him was best for this team personally because of all the drama this team's fan base had last year and coming offseason with Dak and him both on the team. It is kind of sad though to see him go for all that he did though and I understand that. So when I posted that, it was just seeing more drama with him gone and was more a reaction reply :)

Anyways, I meant to also add to that and say this team needed this offensive line much earlier in Romo's career. He probably for sure would still be playing and have atleast one ring IMO. Right now though for Dak, he needs the front office to get his team a rebuilt defense so that he doesn't have to win it for the team every single game like Romo had to. My belief, and I recall me posting this shortly after Dak was drafted as there were only a handful that agreed with me, is that Dak has the leadership and the skillset to do this. We will see if the skills get close to Romo, but I do believe leadership for sure will. Nice to not have to worry so much about the QB position.

It'll be interesting to see how this fan base handles 8-8 this season. That's for sure.

it is going to be tough to replace the few good guys we had on this defense that left and I am not sure how they are going to accomplish that in the draft alone apparently, but I sure hope you are wrong!

Such a bogus argument. Last year with Romo, they would have been 13-3, too.

Very friendly schedule last year with some great breaks in it.
Almost as bogus as the easy schedule argument. But hey, it is what it is right?

Me, too.

But the defense got worse, the RT is gone, and it's doubtful we'll get through another season without a significant injury on the offensive line. That means less from the running game. The schedule is MUCH harder, and Dak will be gameplanned more effectively. It'll be 4-5 years before he has the league figured out.

Somewhere between 7-9 and 10-6.
