oh you're gonna get some hate mail for this bout of honesty. you see, this *must* be mcfadden and any wavering in this belief the MOB will surround you and call youall sorts of names.

but i agree. this could be a 7-9 team the browns have right now. it's not like last years powerhouses are doing it again this year across the board. they'll both win and lose ones they shouldn't and in the end, i see 7-9 or even 8-8 as pretty doable for them.

Makes for good conversation, but after looking at this season, it's a weird one....I mean who would expect the Bungals to be 1-3....Also the Browns are growing with confidence with minimal injuries.....It's kind of scary considering the player we want in this years draft....nevertheless I agree with the poster earlier saying that we have two first round picks no matter what....

Maybe I'm blind, but IMO the Brownies can go 9-7 or 10-6.....They've beaten the Ravens and Cincy already and have exposed their secondary not to mention:

Miami sucks
Arizona is beatable
Seattle is confused
Jets suck
Rams suck
Bills suck
Houston is beatable
49ers suck

With the parity in that division, the Browns could be a playoff team boys
While it is hardly scientific let's look at those games in the context of their current ESPN power ratings.

CLE is 24.

Miami 32
Arizona 13
Seattle 10
Jets 28
Rams 31
Bills 26
Houston 16
49ers 21

So you'd guess early lines would show CLE favored in 4 of those games.

And that's assuming they do not go to the rookie QB.
The teams they are favored over by rating all have severe QB issues.
Quinn could put them in that same situation for the rest of the season.

In short, no, I do not think they can get to 10 wins. Nor do I think they can be playoff contenders. They are a young team getting better on the OL and at receiving positions but the secondary is questionable and they want to play their first round QB. The coach is going to be pressured to put him in at some point.

Trade Dallas your first round pick. It worked for Buffalo a couple of years ago. :bang2:

Yeah they sure are rockin these days! Woo...o wait, didn't they just loose a game after being +5 in turnovers, running two interceptions back for touchdowns, and getting a touchdown off a kick return? :lmao:

Oh, you mean it worked for one year only?

I can see the Browns losing about 7 to 8 more games, giving us an easy top 10 pick.

Ray Rice seems kind of slow to me........we need a shifty, speedy, back with some power

For that one yr of course. They went from a top 5 pick to the 18th(?).

DeShaun Jackson of Cal

I like Rice and think he could be a very good rb along with Felix Jones.

McFadden is a can't miss, don't you know that, you lamebrain!!
;)

Heck, I'd rather have two shut-down corners with the first three picks than a "can't miss" RB like McFadden.
We already have a pretty good RB in MB with capable backup in JJ and TT.

oh he's as can't miss as anyone who's both lived up to that and those who have not i suppose. he's good - legit 1st pick in the draft good. but he's not the only player in the draft who can help us and while a star powerback is nice, most teams do RB by committee these days anyway. with that kid in indie doing well for addai, you'll see them share more time these days.

i'd take 2 corners and an rb. or wr, or cb, wr, rb. or just bpa the day away.

just wait until the rest of the league gets game film on anderson, the patriots showed the league how to beat him. it's all downhill for the browns from here.

The Browns are not a horrid team but they are still a bad team who will likely go to Brady Quinn and get worse temporarily.

If they lose this week they may well go to Brady now.

If they win then the schedule is up and down and they could end up say 7-9 or so but is that really in their best interest??? They tossed a load at us to get Brady Quinn and they need to see him play.

They are a young team who wants to move beyond being competitive at some point.

In the end I don't think it matters. We will get a very nice pick from them and use on something other than a RB; likely a CB, or WR.

Why Carson Palmer sat a year and learned it did not hurt him. Romo sat and it did not hurt him. Sitting a young QB his 1st year is not an issue and Brady held out so he is behind. It would not surprise me if Brady sits all but the last few weeks of the season.

The Browns are only going to get better barring significant injuries.

Bentley's coming off the PUP list and by most accounts could play soon. Baxter's also getting healthy plus they just got Tucker back from suspension.

I was a lonely voice claiming the Browns were a 7 to 9 win team before the season started but now that's looking more and more likely.

You can rack your mind all day over stuff like that. I live in NE Ohio, and I wouldn't have traded for Edwards at the time of the draft. Sure, it seems like he's finally becoming the WR we all thought he could be, & that's great for the Browns, but there was still a lot of doubt in April.

Plus, it seemed at the time they made the deal, the Browns would be playing Quinn this year, and we all know what happens to a rookie QB on a bad team. Fortunately for them, Anderson has shown to be better than advertised, so Quinn can afford to sit & learn. They still have a ways to go, however, & I still have the pick somewhere under 12, so I'd take that any day.

Jamal Lewis is still in a boot from spraining his foot in the game Sunday. If he can't play, it kills their offense. He was one reason they were scoring some points.

Why is everyone wanted us to draft a rb? Could use much more help then at rb.

when I saw Anderson play in college I thought he looked like an NFL QB with his size and arm strength.
I am usually way wrong on those things but he is getting the job done for them.

I personally don't care if we get McFadden or not....this draft has some nice RBs in it.

I just wanted a top 5 pick so we could trade down and get an extra 2nd. This way we have 5 first day picks and we can definitely get some more talent added.....I would love to trade down from 5 to like 12 or so, get a 2nd and maybe a 2009 4th rounder.

The we can draft WR Adarius Bowman and CB Chevis Jackson in the first round. In the 2nd round we can get a DT and RB.....in the 3rd round we can go CB again. Then on Day 2, get another RB, a LB, a C, and maybe even a project QB......but then again, we do have Bartell don't we?
