Ex-Cowboy C.J. Spillman convicted of sexual assault in Texas

He was a Cowboy at the time so it's a fair title. And what a scumbag.

Former Cowboys special teams player C.J. Spillman has been convicted of sexual assault in a 2014 incident at a Dallas-area hotel.

A Tarrant County jury deliberated less than two hours Thursday before returning the guilty verdict.

Prosecution spokeswoman Samantha Jordan says the punishment phase will resume Friday morning, when Spillman could be sentenced to two to 20 years in prison.

Grapevine police say a woman reported Spillman raped her Sept. 20 at the Gaylord Texan Resort, where he was staying. Testifying in his own defense Thursday, Spillman acknowledged having sex with the woman but insisted it was consensual.

Attach a famous entity to a head line.

They should teach a morals class, and a common sense class, and a dont be a dumb az class to these nfl players.

An active member of the 2014 Cowboys raped someone......I don't think I am making "more of it" and it isn't bias that they mention him as a Cowboy, he was a Cowboy when he did it mid-season....we didn't release him when he news broke that he was being investigated....

He's a piece of garbage. But the point is if a player plays for 30 other teams the press would call him former cowboy if he bought a dallas cap at the stadium.
And he was accused of rape while with SF too.

I love that although this dude played most of his career with the 49ers, the fact that he spent one year with the Cowboys before being bounced out of the league makes him an "Ex-Cowboy". Stay classy media.
