I was looking for Ware to make a play in OT in the Seattle game. He didn't and Seattle won.

But, Ware did make a nice play in the 4th quarter for a safety. Not sure what else ho did in the game.

Clearly Hatcher is better than any DL currently playing for Dallas.
DWare looks reborn and is showing his pass rush form now that he's back in the 3-4 as an OLB.

Not bemoaning the facts. Hatcher had to go take a contract we couldn't give, and Ware was a bit of a flop at DE...that may be due to injuries, but playing DE at a heavier weight and mixing it up with OTs every play can have that effect.

While I never liked the 3-4 as a defense that didn't fit my old timer Cowboys fan sensibilities, I have no doubt our defense would be considerably better if we were still in the 3-4.

In the 3-4, we never found the right type of DE's who could hold up and still bring a consistent pass rush. Now we are in the 4-3 with a plethora of DT types and no one who looks like a DE. We have to hope we can find some real DEs in free agency or the draft.

Great team win today after a terrible start. If we can avoid laying at egg at home vs NO next Sunday night, hope will definitely be alive.......for a while.

I saw the game against denver and had an eye on ware.

i saw him getting rest on the bench when there were clear passing downs.
all in all he was not much of a factor. the safety he nearly made was a wr blocking him and he still could not bring lynch down.

Ware caused a sack nearly causing a fumble, then on the very next play stood up the running back in the end zone letting his guys swarm to the ball. Ware nearly won that game for Seattle with those two plays. He was also chipped through-out the game by a running back. Saying he did nothing sounds like sour grapes.

I will always be a Ware fan, but I completely understood the reason he had to part ways with the Cowboys. Being a football fan I still cheer for Ware.

Melton is a FA vet, not a draft pick. DLaw is a biscuit or two shy of being the prototypical 4-3 DE and to me is more of a 3-4 OLB. He is supposed to be a situational pass rusher so that remains to be seen since he's out with an injury..

What? Free agent vet or not....Melton is 27 years old and he's 5 years younger than Hatcher and Lawrence is a pass rushing DE. You just complained about them not addressing the positiion. If you don't like who they addressed with than fine but they did address the positions. This defense needed to get younger especially this defensive line. As GREAT of a reputation that Hatcher and Ware had here last year....they were not very good in November and December which could be because of age, injuries and fatigue.

and yet, Hatcher, Ware, and Austin all did something the Cowboys didn't do today..............they lost.

Very good point.

I think all 3 guys are great talent. But there's a culture of mediocrity here and Witten and Romo are also a part of that culture but you can sort of feel the tide changing. I don't know if this team last season comes back down 21 like they did today.

So is Ware's 1 sack, 1 tackle and 1 tackle for loss worth a million dollars per game? I didn't think so either. It's sucks, but he could have stayed here if he wanted to. He took the money and ran. I am more interested about guys currently playing for the Cowboys.

I don't fault him for it. Two years ago DE's weren't getting any money in free agency. A year later and everyone was overpaying. I don't blame Ware for going to a better team and getting paid. But he's not for the Cowboys.

You are wrong about Ware. I was at the first two broncos games(bought one of my bosses season tickets) and I have focused on Ware as I'm a huge fan.

He is not the same player he once was. He can't get the edge and his bull rush hasn't beaten a RT that I have seen. The sacks he has got have walked into him on extended plays.

Not to diminish 94 at all. He was the best. But the decision to let him go was the right one and based on what I see, he wouldn't be helping this defense much at all.

#reasonwhyIblameWoicek

All of our oft injured players leave and have good health for other teams. Its Woicek people. We need a new modern approach. The game isnt the same as when he had success for us.

corner blitz created that. I coulda stood there and gotten the same safety effect.
What?

Ware set the edge and was the first to make contact on the safety. That was a play that he made. He's always been excellent at that, even in the last couple of years.

Wow you just totally missed the point. I said Draft pick, and never said I didn't like Melton. Carry on with your rant...

There's no rant but I guess i'm confused. What does it matter how you got him? You got their replacements. You got Sean Lee's replacement in McClain via trade. So do you discredit that because he wasn't a official draft pick? I guess i'm just confused about your point.

Dallas'defense looks vastly better without them. Ware disappeared at crunch time again as usual.

I haven't seen too much of hatcher but ware didn't do jack today against the Hawks and he looked old and slow.

I agree.

I know he got the safety but after that he played like something was bothering him.

Hatcher wanted out. I bet offers being equal he would've left any way.

Dud was bitter

Speaking of Ex-Cowboys

Miles Austin: 14Rec 19Tgts 115yds 2TD
Terrance Williams: 8Rec 13Tgts 102yds 2TD

Dallas hasn't really lost or gained much productivity from that switch so far. Of course, TWill is in his 2nd season, Austin in his 9th, so hopefully TWill continues to develop and becomes a bigger part of the offense.
