Speaking of Ex-Cowboys

Miles Austin: 14Rec 19Tgts 115yds 2TD
Terrance Williams: 8Rec 13Tgts 102yds 2TD

Dallas hasn't really lost or gain much productivity from that switch so far. Of course, TWill is in his 2nd season, Austin in his 9th, so hopefully TWill continues to develop and becomes a bigger part of the offense.

Um, the money savings between the two is huge.

I was looking for Ware to make a play in OT in the Seattle game. He didn't and Seattle won.

But, Ware did make a nice play in the 4th quarter for a safety. Not sure what else ho did in the game.

Was earlier than that wasn't it?

Also OP, you should make this thread after the season ends, Ware last season was himself the first 4 games then he wasnt due to injuries, same as hatcher after his Stinger in that Minnesota game.

There's no rant but I guess i'm confused. What does it matter how you got him? You got their replacements. You got Sean Lee's replacement in McClain via trade. So do you discredit that because he wasn't a official draft pick? I guess i'm just confused about your point.

My only point was that the best way to replace old stars is with draft picks. Trades, FA's, and walk-ons are good provided they temporarily fill an immediate need but are not always the best long term solution. Most of the time they are just stop gaps.

Melton came in as a huge question mark after just having surgery, didn't take a single snap in preseason, is already injured with groin issues, but has still shown some flashes. He's on a make it break it 1 yr option deal. Hope he pans out but my preference would have been an early draft pick. Luckily we have Coleman to raise up, I really like the upside with this one...

I haven't seen too much of hatcher but ware didn't do jack today against the Hawks and he looked old and slow.

You were watching the wrong game. He caused a safety and was in the back field........... alot.

The seahags' starting tackle got injured and Ware had a blast with the backup.

This only really matters if Austin stays healthy, if the Browns can keep him in bubble wrap for the year Cowboys have to start asking questions.

Clearly Hatcher is better than any DL currently playing for Dallas.
DWare looks reborn and is showing his pass rush form now that he's back in the 3-4 as an OLB.

Not bemoaning the facts. Hatcher had to go take a contract we couldn't give, and Ware was a bit of a flop at DE...that may be due to injuries, but playing DE at a heavier weight and mixing it up with OTs every play can have that effect.

While I never liked the 3-4 as a defense that didn't fit my old timer Cowboys fan sensibilities, I have no doubt our defense would be considerably better if we were still in the 3-4.

In the 3-4, we never found the right type of DE's who could hold up and still bring a consistent pass rush. Now we are in the 4-3 with a plethora of DT types and no one who looks like a DE. We have to hope we can find some real DEs in free agency or the draft.

Great team win today after a terrible start. If we can avoid laying at egg at home vs NO next Sunday night, hope will definitely be alive.......for a while.

Espn and the Broncos website show Denver to be a 4-3 team.

I saw the game against denver and had an eye on ware.

i saw him getting rest on the bench when there were clear passing downs.
all in all he was not much of a factor. the safety he nearly made was a wr blocking him and he still could not bring lynch down.

Love Ware.
Came up short for us,
Has been finished for a couple years now. Stats withstanding.

DWare had 4 sacks in the first 3 games last year and 2 for the rest of the season and 2.5 thru 3 so far this year. Hatcher has 2.5 sacks against Jville and no against any other teams he's faced and his team is 1-2 . I don't really give a crap about either of these players because they are no longer Cowboys. I also don't want either one because they are over the age of 30 and wanted too much money that this team couldn't afford to pay players that age. Neither one wanted to be here because if they did they would have took less to stay. That's the nature of the business but I'm not rooting for either player because they aren't Cowboys.

he caused the safety and he had at least one sack and almost stripped the ball from wilson on the play.
