JORDAN ROSS: So where are you in your rehab? Are you completely healed yet?

TYRONE CRAWFORD: I’m not completely healed yet. I still have a little ways to go, but I should be back by OTA’s. I can do just about everything, but I’m still dealing with a little soreness.

JORDAN ROSS: I remember seeing your face when you were taken off the field on that cart at Training Camp last year. I could tell you were devastated. What was going through your mind at that moment? Do you use that memory as motivation to come back stronger?

TYRONE CRAWFORD: After getting my first year under my belt, I felt so confident going into my 2nd year. I felt like I had decent OTA’s that year. I felt like I was ready to go mentally. I was a lot more prepared than I was coming out of college. I just really had high hopes for the season. When I got injured, it shot all of that down. I was sitting there on the ground, hoping it wasn’t serious. But then when the trainers told me what it was, I fell apart emotionally. That’s not really what motivates me though. I feel like God has a plan for everybody though. I just want to build on the confidence I had last year. I feel like I’m gonna do really well. I feel like I’m going to make my team, the coaches and my family proud. That’s what motivates me.

"JORDAN ROSS: What do you think is the main hurdle that the defense must overcome in order to improve next season? And how do you think y’all can make that leap?

TYRONE CRAWFORD: I think Jerry already made that leap by making the coaching changes on defense. I think it’s going to be great. We also have a lot of good defensive options in the draft. Personally, I’m just focused on playing my role as best as I can, so I can help my team as much as possible."

Can't wait to see him healthy. The other guys, especially Hatcher have said he could be really good.

Read where he states he prefers to stay as SDE rather than the DT role he was expected to fill last season. Where are the coaches seeing him for this D (1 tech/3 tech rotation)? He seems to really respect Marinelli "hope Rod gets the D-Line he wants this season"...

Why wouldnt he feel more comfortable? He's played in a 4-3 all of his football playing yrs but 1. But Marinelli see's him as a DT. And he says that he learned alot from Ratliff on playing DT too.

Thankfully Rat didn't teach him to ignore coaches advice on possible position change(s). ;) Couldn't resist :D...honestly just hope he can contribute to the DL rotation wherever Rod likes him in his scheme.

Lookin foirward to seein what kinda line Rod can get together too. Woulda loved to seen Ware, Ratliff, Hatcher and Spencer with Crawford, Bass and Brent in rotation. Still tryna figure out how it flew all to hell.

I'd be lying if I didn't feel the DL would be lights out last season (even without Rat, don't trust that...got nothing:)). Spencer/Ware off the edges ALL DAY? With Hatcher slicing through the middle, feel like a kid getting my Madden bet started...yeah this ain't Madden. Spencer really screwed this team (not his fault for being injured, etc.) but dayum. I like Rod too and felt he put up good D's in Chicago but wish he would incorporate more Man D and press concepts. He is undoubtedly a player's coach, so I feel he will adjust his scheme to the talent given.

One of my favorite players on the rise. Hope he's able to come back and do big things for the Cowboys.

Never thought I would become such fans of Bass/Crawford (this team needs one of these guys to contribute heavily) but considering our options, they are the young talent on the line pre-draft. Loved Crawford's potential as the 5 tech in 3-4 bf the change.

I think Crawford has the potential to play any position along this line except 3T, but if I'm not mistaken, Marinelli thinks otherwise.

Funny how he gives Jerry credit and not JG.

That is the main reason I hate to see people pound on Garrett so much. I'm not a big JG guy but those guys all healthy and motivated would have made a big impact on the W-L last year no question about it. JMO but we not only make the playoffs we have some success. This year it's about rebuilding the front 7 (primarily the DL) and Crawford will be counted on a ton.

I wish he asked him what his weight was. That would give a clue where Marinelli wants him. I think he may want him at 1 tech.

It's the big "if" but if they coulda had the guys they thought they were gonna have before the season started up front to go along with the new found skill of getting turnovers it would have turned some games around. Terrible timing on ratliffs part, I'm prolly gonna have to carry a grudge for him, he coulda stepped in and helped soften the blow of losing Crawford and Spencer.

I was deflated when Crawford went down last year, so I hope that he can get back to where he was prior to the injury...he was beating our OL in practice (I wonder if he would do that near the end of the season when they were playing better)....

He should've adjusted as a HC...run the dang ball! GM's are paid for that credit, not HC's...

I hope you mean 1 technique. Crawford was expected to see snaps at 3 tech last season prior to his injury. Not sure if Crawford at weakside DE is a plus play either.

I did mean the other DT spot. I don't understand the different "tech" crap with DTs. I get it has to do with gaps, but I don't like to shoehorn players into only one assignment, particularly up front. Versatility is important.
