I dont think anybody told Rappaport that there will be safety change.He is just guessing based on Awuzie practicing at Safety during the practice period media is allowed to watch.

I don’t understand why Woods isn’t getting a look there? Do they just like him in the slot? The plast Great S we had that could cover guys in the slot and strike fear as a hitter was Woody. I don’t understand this coaching staff sometimes

yes I am serious and no it doesnt ruin the gameplan but between jerry telling the packers lee won't play on friday and this kind of thing it just seems not very smart.
If you have a defensive package with chido at safety why Announce it? They didnt announce last week that frazier was going to do the same thing so why do it this week.
It just seems like a not smart thing to do.

This is what I don’t understand. Woods seems like a natural S to me and they’re playing him at CB, where Awuzie looks like a CB to me.
Mane I’m just dumb, but I don’t really get it.

he will. This is all about different defensive packages. Last week frazier was on the field a lot, this week I bet chido and woods get in there in different fronts.
I bet we see 4 safeties possibly on the field today in different looks.

Agree. But, (you knew that was coming lol) just because a player can play more positions doesn't necessarily mean he's good at them. GB doesn't have the team they did last season. In fact all 3 of those players that killed us as home last season are gone. To top it off, their oline is horrible. We need to take advantage of this because Wodger's won't have the time he did last year tossing out of the pocket. He's been running for his life back there which is perfect for Dlaw to pick up a few sacks as well. We win this one today!

This is why the Cowboys chose Awuzie-- b/c he can play CB and S and you can disguise your coverage more, and you can also further strengthen your dime and "Deacon" packages. With Jones, Lewis, and Awuzie on the field-- you can take away a TE and two slot WRs when teams (like GB) spread us out.
Things haven't gone according to plan since we've been dealing with all the injuries-- but I'm willing to see what we look like with all the kids out there on the field. Woods is another versatile piece that can rotated as either CB or S it seems. Throw in the fact that D Law is having a career year and we are generating a more consistent pass rush than we have in a long time-- and I think there are some building blocks to build on.
Does that mean we destroy Rodgers and the Pack today? Not likely. But we may be able to make it interesting if the offense can run the ball, execute more efficiently, and stop shooting itself in the foot.

Why not woods at safety? We are pretty thin at corner why move a corner to safety? I guess they are moving woods to corner?

Woods is playing Wilcox role from last year. He'll see the field plenty today and gain more snaps if Heath continues to struggle. Remember-- Heath actually looked great against GB last year and almost had 2 INTs on AR if not for a tricky tack flag on Brown. He also had a great sack against Rodgers-- still have no idea how he did NOT fumble that ball. Heath laid a textbook tackle and strip on him from the blindside but AR was able to pull another horseshoe out of his backside.
