Expect to see more quality role players in fa over stars!

When one understands how many deficiencies the defense has they should realize that getting huge pieces like Crosby are an asset we can't "afford".....Quinnen is already that guy at the DT position.

The goal should be to aquire players that are between the skill level of Crosby and the Murray's and Sanborns of the NFL.

They are out there and the best coaches and GMs know who they are and how to aquire them
It all about adding quality role players that fit with our core, but bottom fishing, but good solid starters.

Makes since. 4 good players who are better than you had last year helps the team more than one star player. The key is get good starter quality players and not bums
You build around your core players with quality starters that would break the bank.

Bilicheck use to ask his scouts. don't tell me about what a player is not able to do. tell me the few good things he can do and will use him for that purpose. I think we will sign a couple of good FA. maybe one big name, but the rest will be as you said. given lack of talent on defensive back 7 on this team. that would be an improvement.
They have to overturn the roster with better overall talent. Get better across the defense will improve the whole unit.

I love everything you said about this post, I'm sorry, we MUST get more picks some how some way!!!!!!!!!
Yep, unless of course something like the Lamb situation happens to us twice in this draft.

They moved back to take Micah and Guyton and picked up a third each time. Shouldn’t be too difficult to pull off.

I am expecting the Cowboys to be far more aggressive in fa this offseason, but don't think they will be hunting star type A free agents. With so many positions to address and a new defensive coaching staff in place, expect them to target more role players who they have coached in the past:

CP-Eagles, Broncos, Packers
Ansley Passing Game Coordinator-Packers, Chargers
Ryan Smith DB Coach-Cardinals
Dixon DL Coach-Vikings/Broncos
I think star quality player are actually more likely though trade. Crosby, Greenard and Fitzpatrick are strong possibilities imo. FA i think you are definitely right. Maybe a tier or two up from the norm with maybe one higher tier guy. Devin Lloyd could be a surprise. But Dean is more likely.

I like Lloyd a lot. Does he fit in the scheme?

Would he play inside? Seems like a 43 outside guy but I can’t be sure.

I would like that approach a lot.

Agree, the star quality player will be more for the trade market then fa. They are going to try to plug several holes with the middle class of fa's. Think the list I put together has definitely some names they should target.

Hopefully it isn't

Problem with this free agency is you are gonna pay top dollar for mediocrity. People complain about Brandon Carr. That’s this free agency class.

And everyone is trying to fix their holes before the draft so the competition will be steep.
Brandon Carr was solid for us real solid. If wee can land a BC type cb in Free agency like Carr I would be excited.

As long as they are better than Sanders and Murray from 2025

That’s basically more of the same from these twats.

That's what they usually try, such as Zimmer bringing in Kendricks and Eberflus bringing in Sanborn. Solomon Thomas also was a Whitecotton guy from his days with the Jets.

The method isn't new to this team. The question will be the quality they are allowed to shop for. If it is vet minimum FAs or just above that, then that means more players who either haven't accomplished much, are coming off injuries or are nearing the end of their careers.
