OXNARD, Calif. - he Cowboys have apparently seen enough of the Rico Gathers experiment, deciding to cut the tight end on Monday here at training camp.

Gathers was entering his fourth camp with the team, and had seemingly improved every year, going from the practice squad in 2016-17 to the active roster last year in 2018, when he played 15 games, including four starts.

But here at camp, Gathers hadn’t made a big impact, and also suffered a minor ankle injury that kept him out a few days........

now he goes to NE and becomes Gronk ) they have coaches to nurture him..actually play him in real games in creative manner? )mostly joking but that would be funny

very late 7 round draft pick project, and he did not impede upon the development of Jarwin or Schutlz.
I still had no problem drafting him that late and taking a chance.

A 4th TE that was worth taking a look at as a late 7th round pick, but it's over, no harm done.

He was a 6th round pick but other than that I agree with what you are saying.

The majority of the time a late 6th round pick isn't going to work out anyway, so I didn't have a problem taking a chance on someone having the talent but lacking the experience, as opposed to someone the scouting departments of every team didn't see as worthwhile. It didn't work, so not a big deal.

Honestly I thought he would be a big time threat in the red zone... Whether it was his fault or coaching, who knows anymore.

He had one chance in the red zone last year I think it was against Tenn, we essee and he blew it, he was twice the size of the cover man and he couldn't outmuscle him for the ball, that was the end of his potential in my estimation, we were very patient with him to be fair, he got a good shot with us.

LLLOOOLLL, a lot of country people can't stand that song. Had people here in NC where I live, livid that because he was wearing Lee jeans said they would quit buying then. As you may not know the HQ for Lee jeans is here in Greensboro NC.
