I loved how Eziekel attacked and lowered his pads into Cam all night. I think this is needed to set a tempo. I think it energizes this entire team. Having said that I hope that he will not alway look for the contact because once you get to the second level if you can make that one guy miss then its a big gain or a TD. The best thing about Zeke getting to the second level is that not every safety is close to Chancellor and Earl Thomas. Hopefully we will see a lot of long runs this year.

It was fun to watch, but Zeke needs to be more Emmitt and less Marion Barber or he will have a short career.

Long term I expect that to be the case. I think he just wanted to set the tone last night and let the legion of boom know that he's not afraid and they can't intimidate him. If they kept that up I would have expected that by the end of the game Chancellor would have lowered his shoulder one time to find that Zeke just ran around him and left him face down on the ground while Zeke scored. The second hit, where Zeke spun off and gained another 4 yards, was just a taste.

Yes, sometimes it is necessary to set the tone, especially when you're a rookie.

I hate Cam so him bullying him and making him look like a clown was perfect!

It's also nice to set the tone against what's supposed to be the hardest hitting defensive backfield in football. I'm sure some lesser safeties and smaller CBs are going to watch that film and cringe. Could give Zeke an edge down the road.

I can understand doing that against the Seahawks. I think if you don't set the tone against them they're going to set the tone against you. Chancellor is a good player but he's looking for the kill shot. He hated getting a couple of kill shots delivered to him.

hopefully some Safeties will make "business decisions"

I think he was half pissed off that they had hurt Tony (and seemed happy) and half tired of them jawing. IMO he was just showing them he can bring it and didn't give a **** about a little contact.

I bet he gained a lot of respect around the league with that series.

Agreed. .

If there's a coach worth half his salt on the payroll.......this should be taken care of.

Bring Emmitt in and talk to the kid. Go over some film.

Loved it.

Although I'd prefer more juking and elusiveness going forward. That approach makes for a 4-year career.

Solid point, but I think Elliott uses his power when he needs to. I don't think he seeks contact nearly as much as Barber did.

What also limited barber is that he didn't become a starter until he was like 25 years old.

Zeke said something about Seattle was talking crap to him about being a rookie. I think it was his first action and with all they hype players were looking to send a message so Zeke decided to send a message himself that the hype isn't just hype.

He is smart and the last hit with the spin seem Kam took the blunt of the force. I'm not worried too much about contact, he will be looking to score most runs and not trucking someone.

Might do it at first though

Plus, the next guy is going to be expecting Zeke to thump him...one quick spin as the guy sets his feet and Zeke is gone.

Yes, but he was only 27 in his final year in Dallas.

Zeke won't seek as much contact as Barber. Few if any RBs have even sought that much contact (Maybe Earl Campbell).

Barber became overpaid which accelerated his exit in Dallas. If he stayed here, I think he would have had a few more productive years. It made no sense that they paid Barber as much as they did and still drafted Felix Jones in the first.
