Zeke now leading the NFL in rushing.

But Jalen Ramsey would have made so much more of a contribution. The pass rush and run defense would be so much better.

Terrible draft pick. What were they thinking? Lol
I like the way you think(on this one).

I mean he isn't worth a top 5 pick. Becuase he's likely to get injured and or not be worth his 2nd contract.

But he looks great now. So all we can do is hope he continues this type of production for a decade.
If they can keep a trust worthy backup like an Alfred Morris around you can keep his rushing load reasonable he could finish a 2nd contract ala Matt Forte. But at a 5 year rookie deal with say a 5 year 2nd contract, I wouldnt put money on him finishing contract #2. Probably the guarenteed portion of it at least

If they run him like Murray, forget it

Murray came in the 3rd. Not only did he league the lead in rushing he broke several Cowboys and NFL records along the way. And like so often happens he hasn't been worth his 2nd contract. Which is the real issue you're stupidly ignoring.

And yes Zeke does lead the league in rushing. He also leads in attempts. There is correlation there.

And while we are on the subject...yes I'd absolutely rather have had Jalen Ramsey on Jeremy Kerley than sixth round rookie Anthony Brown. That matchup almost cost us the game.

But please go on and continue to show your football ignorance. As if Zeke leading the league in yards and attempts after 4 weeks justifies the terrible use of a limited resource.

I know. 150 last week. 140 this week. He's obviously good. But I'm not convinced he's top-5-draft-pick-good. He lacks the Dorsett burst. He had 140 yards. But the holes were gigantic and with better breakaway speed he should have had 180-200, maybe more, with a couple of touchdowns. There were at least three big runs where a top-5 talent should have turned on the jets and scored. There was one on the drive where Dorsett would have scored easily. Smith would have been tackled inside the five. I think McFadden would have scored.

I can't complain too much, because he's obviously productive. But he strikes me as a quality third-round mudder that we used an elite draft pick on. I think I might rather have Buckner and the right third-round back. I'm just not convinced that he's worth the draft capital we spent on him.

Just MO. Figure it's an interesting conversation.

Do know which RB leads the league in yards after contact?

Thank you Zeke!! The Cowboys did not take "just another running back" at 4 overall, they took a special offensive talent that can impact the game as a runner, receiver, and blocker. Feed the beast!!

I love Zeke's abilities right now. I was in the Morris sleeper camp as a 50/50 split carries at least to start the year, but Zeke has taken control of the backfield.

Now time to get a pass rush and defense to compliment the offense.

And how about him coming out and hyping up the defense before that big third down? The heart he and Dak have brought to this team is unreal.
its things like that - we know there are some limitations to this club but this feels like a new attitude in Big D.

Murray was just fine.......Kelly didn't know how to use him....he has 496 yards and 5 TDs this year

It has to be emphasized how important it is to have a guy who is always going forward and is a 1st down threat. I'd much rather have a guy who consistently gets 5 yards a carry and doesn't go backward than a guy who bursts and runs it in for a touchdown every couple of games, but dances too much and loses yards on plays trying to hit the home run. It's demoralizing for a defense when they think they are about to get off the field and then you have a guy who puts them back on the field for 3 more downs. The big thing about Zeke is that he's getting better every single game. The first game, he looked like a bust. The second game, he looked better, but he had his fumbles. The third game, you saw him improve how he held the ball and no more fumbles and he had a huge game. Same thing this game. With Zeke, it looks like we're finally getting back to that 2014 formula. If he can continue this, it looks like we have a shot.

The "hate" Zeke gets reminds me of the comments we'd hear about Murray.

Meanwhile, Murray leads the league in TDs since 2013, is having a terrific season, leads RBs in fantasy points, etc.

At some point, the RB has a little something to do with the success.

IMO some "fans" go out their way to be negative to try to look smart

If we drafted Ramsey instead of Zeke, we lose this game in my opinion. And the idea that you can downgrade a rookie's accomplishment just because the organization trusts him enough to use him is laughable. The more you push this agenda so blindly, the sillier you sound.

Push what agenda?

I said before the draft that we'd be stupid to use the 4th on a RB.

I said after the draft that Zeke will be awesome while healthy on his first contract with the Cowboys.

Those statements are not mutually exclusive.
