How many times has this organization over the years stated something wasn't serious only to come back and state a player will miss extensive time because the injury isn't healing as fast as we thought......

Many. But it is early in TC and way too early to panic.

I keep hearing the " conditioning" word come up. Seems to me the Cowboys need to re-evaluate their strength and conditioning program esp on the preventive side

This has been repeated since the 90's. People get injured, it's going to happen.

They aren't about to risk Zeke turning a tweak into something worse.
I'm sure they will be extra cautious with all the starters.

What does some time mean?? I wish they would be a little more clear on the injury

But why the need for a cover story? If a guy isn't in shape, he isn't in shape. Just say so. I see no reason to try to protect these guys, and I have no idea what they're even protecting them from in the first place.

Sit out a bit until you're in shape. Try not to be out of shape. Seems pretty simple and no need to fabricate soreness or injury.
Because it makes the coaching staff look soft and not in charge.

No Idea. I would imagine Garrett is smart enough to understand that anytime someone sneezes on this team ESPN reports it on National tv.

The falcons had a player apparently rape two women who they had to kick off the team this morning and espn has not mentioned it once, not once. Just like the brandon browner story.

Yet espn mentions Hardy and gregory everyday. Or if romo is fat.

so maybe the organization is trying to keep that coverage to a minimum if zeke needs to get in better shape. Which I don't buy to be honest, I think he just has a slight pull and they are being careful with him.

That's be pretty sad if the team was actually that concerned about what ESPN puts on TV.

I'd imagine the amount of flak over Romo got for supposedly being out of shape probably provided reason for caution in airing out that your #4 overall 1st round RB is out of shape.

The media would have a field day with that.

And who cares? Howamy points does media coverage give Dallas' opponents this season?

None. What the media says is meaningless and there is no requirement to watch ESPN or any other outlet.

How insecure does an organization have to be to where they're scared of what the media might say and fabricate stories of injury. Gotta rank up there with Donald Trump and his hairpiece.

He's already got the veteran strained hamstring down, good for him

He'll be back next week after the blue/white scrimmage I'd think.

That is because nobody gives a dam about the sorry arse Falcons

It's been pointed out but bears repeating...37% of RBs who have a soft tissue injury in preseason end up missing at least 1 week in the regular season with the same injury.

good stat and if you are a Cowboy, that 1 week becomes 6 to 8.

I don't buy the out of shape BS...if he wasn't in shape, he wouldn't have passed the physical and conditioning tests. Therefore he would not have practices since day one.
Also it was reported in OTAs and mini camp he was in great shape, so how does he get out of shape in 5 weeks, when he was in sage all off season.

yes I can say this without proof as the saying he is out of shape shows no proof either.

Jazz I don't think they do those anymore before camp. Remember they did it that one year and a LOT of guys failed, plus I don't ever remember reading or hearing a single thing about the physical conditioning day at camp.

I'm a Zeke fan
but my question will always be value with him at 4th overall
I'll assume he'll be a super star, but the comparison (for me anyway) will usually be Zeke compared to two (or more) players that could be had for that pick.

Zeke vs

Leonard Floyd AND Derrick henry
or
Shaq Lawson AND Paxon Lynch
or
Vernon Hargreaves AND Reggie Ragland
or
Sheldon Rankins AND Michael Thomas AND Kenneth Dixon

etc
etc

Just a ton to give up for one player and especially a RB

So Zeke....time to dominate!
