F.Y.I.: Chris Samuels Sprained MCL

I think it's kind of ironic that his backup Jason Fabini, was the one who shoved Joe Salave'a into Samuels :laugh1:

1. Chris Samuels: The jumbo OT and perennial Pro Bowler suffered what has initially been called a sprained MCL of the right knee. As we write/read, he is getting an MRI to determine the severity of the injury. Of the two (MCL or ACL), MCL is the one you want to have. We’re supposed to get word around 10 about what was found; if it’s anything other than mild, I’ll post something here. Samuels was run into by Joe Salave’a after JS was shoved by Jason Fabini during a play late in the practice. Honestly, you could even hear the players go “oooooooh” when it happened, and Samuels said his initial thought was he was done for the year. It doesn’t look that way.

I'm already starting to hate this Fabini guy :D

Glad he isn't hurt seriously... any injury to a player is bad...

And here is to the Dead skins sucking, but finishing better than the Browns!

He sounded happy in his post injury interview. Its not a severe injury and he gets to miss all of training camp and preseason. Bet you hes not complaining. I wouldn't if I was a seasoned vet and got the chance to miss TC and meaningless preseason.

An MRI taken on Commanders offensive tackle Chris Samuels tonight revealed an isolated grade 2 sprain of his right MCL. The injury is expected to keep Samuels out for up to four weeks.

Good to know he will be fine in time for the SSeason. I don't want any excuses when Ware and Spencer are blowing by him.

Yeah, I looked on a couple of different sites and it says that 2-4 weeks are needed for the player to be full-go again. He should have at least a week of practice before facing Jason Taylor. Yikes...

They'll easily survive 3 to 4 weeks without him.

No big deal.

Pre-season injuries suck worse than any other kind IMO.

The only thing I'm concerned about is him being out of shape. Hes fat and can't stay away from food just like every other lineman. Hopefully he doesn't eat out of his mind during this duration.

Until now I took your username to mean you were a Sam Hurd fan since he is a WR and wears 17 for the Cowboys.

:welcome:
