Lot's of comical knashing of teeth around here the last two days.

To be fair, it really has been a whirlwind of Free Agency signings so far.

For better or worse, it seems to be unfolding just as the Dallas front office thought it would...so far.

My question is this;

What players (if any) so far have been signed for an amount that you think the Cowboys should have matched or topped?

I'm more interested in keeping the continuity from last year which apparently other than the OL we are not interested in. The strength of our defense was our LBs and we are perilously close to remaining with Hitchens as the only LB that saw meaningful time last year.

I would have liked to have signed:
- Brian Hoyer... 2 years... $10 million.
- Roy Helu... 2 years... $4 million.
- Jacoby Jones (ST's)... 2 years... $5.5 million.
- Malcom Smith...

That's it exactly. I don't see any players out there that should have been signed by the Cowboys for the amount reported by the media.

Suh-$60 mil guaranteed
Paea-$5 mil per season
Revis-$39 mil guaranteed
Cole- $8 mil per season
Parnell- 3rd highest paid RT in the NFL
Harris- $3.5 mil per season
Durant- $3 mil per season

Just absolutely insane contracts that most of these players will not be able to match up too.

Waiting to see what Carter gets paid, my guess is we should have at least kept Durant, probably cheaper of the two LB's.

Carter... $5 mil per year.

Tampa Bay is insane. No wonder they're perennial bottom feeders.

I appreciate your sentiment, but you didn't even come close to answering the OP, or even make a point that was within the realm of what the OP was talking about...

I don't think that it is a particular deal so far. It is that we aren't even being mentioned with or visited by anyone. Plus we haven't settled the Dez or Murray situation and that has people on edge. Your point is well taken but asking a fan base that is starving for success to show patience after finally getting back to the playoffs is a tough request.

Our team is pretty stacked (especially on offense)... I just want to see Demarco resigned so we can concentrate all efforts on making the defense whole for this Super Bowl run.
