Our draft will be dictated by what happens in March and early April...whoever we cut and sign then will determine what we look for in the draft...so with that being said....

Remove
QB Drew Bledsoe
OG Marco Rivera
OT Jason Fabini
OT Flozell Adams
FB Lousaka Polite
LB Al Singleton
S Keith Davis
CB Jacques Reeves

Add FAs
QB Tim Rattay
OG Eric Steinbach
OG Kris Dielman
OT Tony Pashos
DT Terdell Sands
LB Adalius Thomas or DE Dwight Freeney (depending on 3-4 or 4-3 scheme)

Keep FAs
DE Stephen Bowen
DE Kenyon Coleman
OT Marc Colombo
WR Patrick Crayton
S Abram Elam
LB Ryan Fowler
LB Junior Glymph
C Andre Gurode
C Al Johnson
CB Nathan Jones
LS L.P. Ladouceur
P Mat McBriar
TE Brett Pierce
DE Jeremiah Ratliff

Add
new DC (Zimmer must go)
OL Coach (Alex Gibbs, Pat Hill, Mike Tice, etc)

2007 OL before Draft
C-Gurode, Johnson
G-Steinbach, Dielman, Kosier, Procter
T-Colombo, Pashos, McQuistan

With this I think we can go this route

1- DT Amobi Okoye Louisville - 6-1, 317, 5.15
2- CB/S Aaron Ross Texas - 6-1, 192, 4.55
3- OT Doug Free NIU - 6-7, 302, 5.10
4- CB Travarous Bain Hampton - 6-0, 175, 4.40
5- LB Zak DeOssie Brown - 6-4, 240, 4.70
6- WR Aaron Fairooz Central Arkansas - 6-6, 218, Great size, strong and excellent hands
7- DE/LB Marques Murrell Appalachian St. - 6-2, 245
7- OL Ed McCarthey Yale - 6-5, 302, can play C, G, T, solid pass and run blocker
7- TE Zac Herold Nebraska-Omaha - 6-6, 269, excels as blocker and receiver

Lets just hope we can sign Steinbach OR Dielman....No chance we sign both of them....

It wouldn't surprise me if Steinbach wanted Steve Hutchinson type money... Remember the 16 million up front LeCharles Bentley wanted??? He got it and promptly shredded his knee on the first play of TC. Hutchinson didn't set the world on fire with his performance this year either. I wouldn't mind upgrading the OL with a big time player, but I just don't want to break the bank at any one position.

There's no way we're going to replace 3 offensive linemen. At most we're replacing Rivera, but even that is questionable.

i dont know about any of the guys you want the Cowboys to draft except Aaron Ross. Ross is incredibly overrated. He gets burned A LOT.

I dont know too much on how Hutchinson faired with the Vikings but just based on Chester Taylors year I figured he was having a fine year...Was it his pass blocking that was lackluster?

well going into FA we have 24 million to spend...if we cut the players I want to cut, that gives us roughly 8 more million...so around 32 million to spend....

The Texas secondary got abused...mainly cause the Texas LBs were non-existent all year long.

I want Ross cause he can play CB/S and return kicks. I don't like using Newman as a PR....I would rather use Ross.

We aren't losing Flozell, and we won't replace THREE o-linemen. I think we will add guys but we won't get rid of three of them.

As long as they address and upgrade the o-line this off-season, I'll be happy.

I'll be livid if they do nothing.

well maybe thats the case.

But I have this to say.

I dont want anymore players in our secondary from the big 12. None.

Get them from a conference that is used to defending the pass.

Big 12 corners and safeties, well I have seen enough of them.

every CB gets burnt from time to time.

Ross gets burnt, I won't deny it. But he also makes plays. Interceptions, forced fumbles, fumble recoveries, solid tackler.

Ross plays better in press coverage. When he gives cushion to the WR is when he struggles. If you watched the Alamo Bowl....the plays where he got beat, were when he was like 10 or so yards off the WR at the snap. When he crowded the LOS, he shut down the WR.

Ross is also a very good KR....He has returned several Punts and KOs for TDs while at Texas. Yes he has fumbled some, but it happens. He is still a playmaker on Defense and Special Teams...and I want him in Dallas.

he got cut in dallas because of age, and costing dallas plays right?

flo = no lateral movement, and if u dont babysit him with fasano in his backside, he gets destroyed. gone

rivera = gae has taken tis toll, but theres no excuse for the amount of false starts and holding penalties he makes. gone

7 mil cap room > flo&rivera

Allen was the guy that the 49'ers ran behind....Not ONE mediot predicted them to have more than 2 wins. He HELPED that team believe it or not.

Flozell may STILL be our best o-lineman.....we need to upgrade it....NOT try to save money there.

I don't care if 30-40% of our salary cap is used across the o-line. THAT is where games are won or lost.

How many sacks did Flo allow this year?

flozell is nowhere near our best OL. yesterday colombo had a tough game, but he's been dallas' best OL along with kosier the whole yr, they've been the most consistent. colombo has actually gotten all the one on ones vs de's this yr while flo needs fasano's help

Colombo has been a nice surprise, and for the sake of arguement, let's say that Colombo is the best o-lineman that we have....where would you put Flozell? #2, correct? You don't get rid of even one of your best o-linemen when we have the problems that we have unless you can get one of the best in the league....which we won't do unfortunately.
