FA Part 1-WR

Depends on the receiver. A guy like Sutton I think might make it to 19. I like Kirk as well and could be had at the end of the first round. We have to remember that receivers typically don't break out big time their first year
I really like Sutton myself, not so much Kirk. I like Kirk the player more than how that player would fit this roster
Who knows how the draft will go but I don’t see Ridley or Sutton being there at 19. But we’ve seen future HOF QB fall so you just never know what can happen

No to Jordan Mathews.

jordan mathews sucks. i'm still not really clear what sammy watkins best role is and definitely wouldn't pay for reputation/draft pedigree alone. landry and pryor are the only two that intrigue me, and landry wants way too much money, and pryor looked terrible last year. his wheels, and potential still intrigue me, but not sure. I guess he'd be the only one that I'd have interest in

Very nice pat, OP. I have a different view of Lee. I don't think the Jags let him walk. I think he is turning into a very clutch player. He is better than any receiver on our roster.

It's pretty odd that teams will let wise receivers walk who are better than any wide receiver on our roster. Our wide receiver play was that bad last year. Dez needs to be in the Turk's crosshairs.

lol... you're smoking dust. dez had as many touchdowns last year in 13 games (some still on one leg) as this dude has had in his entire four year career. this year, he had as many td's as the guy has had the past two years. and even at his absolute worst (lets say this year) his numbers were better than lee's in any year. please just chill, we know.

Ones I may be interested in, but don't know a lot about some of them, and others know the name but without doing a lot of research, as to size and speed these would be ones I would take a look at. Enlighten me if you know why or why not any need to stay or go.
Many I removed that weren't sure, but left them at the bottom. I would rather draft a WR giving one a contract. I want a WR that can be a difference maker. Rather they were already one, or can or was supposed to be one.

Wide Receivers

Sammy Watkins (24)
Jarvis Landry (25)
Allen Robinson (24)
Marqise Lee (26)
Paul Richardson (25)
Donte Moncrief (24)
Terrelle Pryor (28), last year I would have been interested, not this year
John Brown (27), seems to make plays, but not sure about him either.

not sure about
Bruce Ellington (26), Cody Latimer (25), Ryan Grant (27), Jordan Matthews (25)

Watkins - No. Inconsistent & his strength (deep speed) is exactly Dak's weakness
Landry - Oh H yes. If we can lower Dez or trade Dez, he would be a fantastic fit.
A Rob - If you have ever watched the guy play, you know he is very good. But, I don't think the Jags let him go. Coming off injury. Not sure this would be the time even if everything lined up.
Lee - Intriguing but not 100% sold he would give us the addition we need.
Richardson - Again, intriguing. would lean more toward him than Lee at this point.
Moncrief - Yes. Even though he isn't exactly what i envision, for some reason I think he & Dak could develop chemistry. Besides I am an Ole Miss alum & watched him do very well in college so i have a comfort level.
Pryor - Yes. It is a buyers market. I would roll the dice. His skill set is only second to Landry in terms of how it would fit in. But potentially has higher overall upside. Worst case, a more athletic, better version of Brice Butler?
Brown - Feelings similar to Watkins.

We need someone who can create a mismatch the D has to honor or overcompensate for AND who provides Dak with a comfort level. IF you get that player, then I feel that our existing receivers would go back to being quite productive. Out of these players, only Landry & Pryor really fit the bill. But, I am taking a long look at Moncrief & Pryor regardless of what happens w Dez. Think they could be very affordable upgrades to Butler and might do enough to force Defenses to play straight up.

Good post and analysis.
Now that you posted it, yes Pryor may be a version of Butler. I would not complain if he was signed because he still has an upside, but just not sure about him at this point. I guess I was expecting more of an impact from him for Washington. But it could have been Cousins as well. LOL.

Agree that Pryor isn't a sure thing. For some reason players sometimes just don't do well in a situation where it seems they would. But then again, if last year was awesome he wouldn't be available to us. His talent is clear & he is exactly the type low cost \ high reward player I would be willing to gamble on if I am a GM. Even if he is only a complementary receiver, the fact that he was a QB & could open the playbook, has speed to run reverses, etc., could be the multi-tool that creates confusion & matchup issues for defenses.

You are posting on this page that you can't get "real players" in those rounds and now your argument is that those 7 guys are average? Was Prescott average last year when he went to the Pro Bowl? Would you seriously make a different pick if you could do that draft over again?

I think he was appropriate for the pick, but yes, I would say he was average last year as well and I've documented why.
