Anybody besides me, glad that the face of our franchise is not Carson Wentz?

I'm sorry, the guy looks like a doofus and I am having a hard time understanding all the hype. I am glad he plays for the Eagles, the more I watch him the more I think he is going to be a bust as far as no.2 picks go.
I think he can be decent but he should strive to be Alex Smith for a ceiling.

I see some good qualities and I think he may be pretty good, but I haven't seen anything to make me think he is special.

I'm not necessarily disagreeing, but what do you see that makes you think he'll be someone we have to worry about?

I see a pretty strong, athletic guy with a big arm who stares down one receiver, throws a lot of quick slants and bubble screens, has no touch on deep throws, and doesn't know when to not throw a fastball.

Anyone who thinks Wentz is a good QB right now is wearing "Stupid goggles".

Yeah his receivers suck, but the guy hasn't shown any kind of NFL timing or awareness this season. He sits in the pocket because he doesn't trust himself to throw a timing based route outside the hashes, that's why he sits and dumps off to Sproles and targets his TE 20x in a game. His touch downfield isn't good either. Most of the time the pass was 8+ yards he was off terribly.

He has potential, but he needs a lot of work. The only touch pass he threw today was to his side of the field when his WR beat the DB by 5 yards.

I care a lot more about the franchise than I do about the face. I hesitate to declare any player the "face of the franchise" because major sports are filled with horrible people who are athletic but borderline criminals.

Didn't see anything special. Looks like a QB who looks for the TE a lot, checks down sometimes and nothing I'd be afraid of as a defense.

no, I think he is going to be a very good QB in this league. this offense and Dak has skewed the realities of what rookies do. Wentz has already flashed enough to warrant his draft position IMO

Agreed. He's average at best and played poorly most of the season. Bizarre to me how the media and casual fan wants him to be good so badly and justifies his suckiness every chance they get. Other quarterbacks don't get the same benefit of the doubt.

You wouldn't be saying any of that if we drafted him. He's going to be an outstanding QB in this league once he gets more talent around him. You can see the great potential he has. You're just upset by the loss.
