Fact or fiction: Kick returners get injured more often?

You see it stated as fact that being a kick returner puts a player at a higher risk for injury. Thinking back, though, I can't say that I've seen more injuries happen to the KR than to any other positions. Has anyone ever seen any statistics to back this up?

Many factors involved on that one. Is the % higher based on number of plays or touches compared to a RB or WR. Also, bodies flying around on a organized mad scramble to a designed play is also a factor.

I'd assume starters on offense and defense get hurt more simply because they play far more plays. I bet kick returners get hurt far more often than regular players who play 4-5 plays a game. I don't have any statistics to back it up though.

Hos would say that the opposing KR injury quotient just went through the roof with the drafting of the venerable David Beuhler.
