The Falcons and Chargers have already set up meetings with CB Paul Oliver, who is hoping to be selected in July's NFL Supplemental Draft.

Neither plays the Cover 2. Oliver's unimpressive Pro Day still doesn't mean teams won't give him a look. He's a projected third- or fourth-round choice.

We all know TNew, Henry and A Glenn aren't going anywhere this year. Word out of the camps was Reeves and Jones performed well. Then there's Thomas and Butler. On top of that we drafted Brown and Ball, and rumors have it Ball can play a little. I think we're OK at CB for now, considering we'll probably keep 5 like last year.

That just shows how little-regarded Oliver is. Both those teams have sets of young starting corners already.

There's no such thing as too much DB depth. They are like relief pitchers in baseball. They may not get the glory or the recognition that some other positional players may get, but w/o them, you'll likely get exposed and not get very deep into the playoffs.

I'm excited about Courtney Brown's potential. Too bad NFL rules prohibited him from attending those OTAs until he finished his exams which were on the Thursday before minicamp started on Friday. He planned to be at VR on Friday. He's behind the learning curve right now but is a smart kid and hard worker so he's got time to work out physically & absorb a lot of stuff to be as prepared as possible for TC which opens July 24.

Houston hasnt played a game in the NFL yet has he? Cromartie, whats he done?

and nobody gets beat deep more than Hall...the guy is a TD surrendering machine

Jammer is a bust considering where he was drafted...drafted top-10 of 1st rd, plays more like somebody drafted top 10 of 2nd day

I see a rookie, a bust, a joke, and a decent 2nd year player. Without a doubt I'd be looking for help if those guys were penciled in as starters.

You have a starter in Hall, who despite getting beat a lot last year, is going to be starting for a long time. He is ONLY 23 years old. There is plenty of time to turn it around.

And Atlanta's pass rush sucked last year after Abraham went down.

Then you have Jammer, who played better last year than he has done for most of his career. Yeah, he hasn't lived up to his hype, but he will start ahead of Oliver.

Cromartie is a recent 1st round pick. No way San Diego is looking to replace him after one year.

Houston, Atlanta just drafted.

Unless Oliver is available with day 2 picks, I doubt San Diego or Atlanta look to draft Oliver.

I would be looking to replace Hall and Jammer, and giving insurance for Cromartie and Houston in case they bust (A. Carroll, anyone?). You don't necessarily have to replace those guys now, but you're only giving up a 3rd or a 4th for Oliver.

And none of this even touches their nickel CB situation.

just because somebody takes Oliver doesnt mean they necessarily are replacing a current starter with him, especially the first yr...they may see him as a nickel DB or possibly even a FS prospect

Hall had no business making either of the last two pro bowls, especially last yr...if he plays that way again this yr he's a bust...I've never seen any supposedly "good" CB give up so many big plays and easy completions...he even got outrun by a slow WR running with one shoe off

And the Falcons already have a FS prospect in Jimmy Williams, who was a rookie last year.

Their secondary (sans Milloy) is unbelievably young - they dont need more youth. They need experience. Say what you want to about Hall; but he is talented. Sure, he needs to play with more consistancy, but that comes with experience.

Remember, he was a 20 year old starting CB in the NFL....he has a lot to learn/develop yet.

I can't imagine Atlanta spending a 1st day pick on another CB when they already have a ton of resources invested in that secondary (Hall- 8th overall, Williams - high second rounder they traded up for, Houston- high second rounder, and Milloy ($).) And to boot, Hall is the oldest of that trio at 23.

They need to develop.

And, if Atlanta is in the market for a QB next year, they'll want as many day one picks as they can get (they have their 1st, their 2nd, their 3rd, and Houston's 2nd) to move up, in case they have too.

Rumor has it that the Skins were going to offer a 2nd and a 3rd for this kid. Until they found out the supplemental was a DRAFT. They thought it was a trade, so they are no longer interested.

Hmmm, Leonard Davis must be considered a bust too, especially where he was drafted. So are we on or off Bigg's bandwagon? Do we like or don't like his signing?

Are Hall and/or Jammer better than Anthony Henry? If I could pick one of the three to start opposite T-New, I'm not so sure who I would pick.....
