The NFL is expected to announce soon whether the Atlanta Falcons will be punished for pumping artificial crowd noise into the Georgia Dome in 2012 and 2013.

What sort of penalty might they be facing?

"Persistent chatter at the Scouting Combine suggested that the Falcons will be losing a second- or third-round pick in the 2015 draft for the infraction," wrote Mike Florio of ProFootballTalk.com.

"The NFL has provided no insight on the magnitude of the penalty the team will be facing."

No doubt losing a second- or third-rounder would sting the Falcons as they attempt to tweak their offense and rebuild their defense under new coach Dan Quinn.

Well if the Falcons lose a draft pick for pumping artificial noise in their stadium than what should the Pats get for deflating air in the footballs if they are guilty.

Tactically, I'm surprised that the NFL would make this proposed punishment public if they were planning to sweep the Patiots cheating under the rug.

I would be shocked if it were a 2nd round pick. I can understand a 6th or 7th round pick being lost.

:lmao:

With the NFL facing increasing pressure on moral, ethical and competitive issues, I could see ATL getting docked a 2nd or third.

Man that will be funny if it happens.

This would set a standard by which other teams who cheat are judged right? The Patriots cheated at least as bad, probably worse since it was actually on field. Shouldn't the falcons losing a 2nd/3rd dictate at minimum a 1st Rd pick maybe more for the Patriots?

With deflategate, the NFL will find that 11 footballs were within the range expected given atmospheric conditions.

The league will rule that the ball in the Colt's possession was altered by Indianapolis with the intent to deceive and punishment will be executed against the deceivers.

Long term justice will prevail, for the Colts need some penality for lying about Duane Thomas' non-fumble in the Super Bowl.

I can hold a grudge as long as my mother.

On another note Indianapolis and Oklahoma City will have to change their cities' name to something more enlightened.
