Falcons name Matt Ryan their new president of football

Blanks been around Ryan for twenty years I’m going to assume they know each other well.
It doesn't mean a thing not when it comes to him and his advice for the team for the FUTURE

I don't care how much they know him that's the whole point nepotism they're too close That's what you blame the Jones family and what they know what they should be hiring is somebody outside the organization with experience not first time in this role...

Any new hire is taking a chance on an unknown. I blame the jones for 30 years history of failure. I don’t care if family is involved as longs as they win.

Why are you so hostile to me today anyways? Someone pee in your wheeties?

The hell did I do? Lol

The decision could easily blow up in Arthur Blank's face, but he should be given credit for delegating real football decision-making authority to someone other than himself.
It could, but he did the same thing in 2003 when he hired Rich McKay from the Bucs as his new President and GM. Blank recently removed McKay from the football operation and reassigned him to his Sports and Entertainment business. Ryan could be the face of the Falcons over the next 10-20 years.

Close, but not quite the same. Rich McKay's Atlanta Falcons timeline (link & link) was:
  • General manager, 2003 - 2008
  • Franchise President, 2008 - 2025
  • Chief Executive Office, 2011 - 2025
Arthur Blank promoted Greg Beadles (link) to replace McKay as his franchise president and CEO.

Blank named Matt Ryan (link) as his team's President of Football:

<Article excerpt> "Ryan assumes the role immediately and will oversee all aspects of Falcons football for the organization, reporting directly to Blank while collaborating with Falcons President and CEO Greg Beadles to ensure alignment of the entire business and football areas of the organization. Atlanta is currently engaged in searches for a new head coach and general manager. Both hires will report to Ryan."
[Edit] Oops! I forgot to add Ryan's role is brand new and did not exist before him (link).

I find odd is somehow you think these guys because they used to play the game, can be a consultant, and change things, did you not notice that Tom Brady doing that very thing for the Raiders last year, now turn around and have to fire an entire coaching staff ,cost the franchise $60 million plus the BAD free agents, that we're not going to question here, which is even more of a set back, and then they go to the well again, say hey Tom's going to save us..

Well, the Jones family is getting wrenched in all these situations, but the raiders trying to change, how they do things it didn't help at all.. Al Davis gone but the Davis family remained, there's still failures even way below the Cowboys ,Then they hired Tom Brady, he consults them to a whole brand new coaching staff ,all the free agents ,and then they fail again, They also should have never picked a running back that high ,not with all the other needs,

Yep, that's Tom Brady.

he done so well that they're going to trust him again just reboot just tear it all down.

Now people think Matt Ryan and Troy Aikman's going to save these other franchises just because why they were quarterbacks and they played the game they are not true front office people they have no experience being GM's let alone consultants.

Which by the way,

that brings me to a thought here while I'm typing this didn't Jimmy Johnson offer that kind of role to the Cowboys, kind of behind the scenes last year ,they made up the year before, so they've been talking somehow Jimmy Johnson was a quiet consultant and that didn't seem to help...

Do all things somehow hey let's bring Troy in it'll save the Cowboys because it's going to save the Miami Dolphins or Matt Ryan's going to save Atlanta well it didn't look like Tom Brady did any saving he cost that franchise a lot of money and at least one year of a set back if not more.

Kudos...

Jerry should just definitely do what the fans want, because it's foolproof blueprint to make in his franchise better...

If they were ever to make this move you know to get a different GM or hire a different source to help themselves it would not be someone that was close to the franchise...

I think that's bad that's more of that nepotism right that familiarity that comfort you need to get out of your comfort zone, so you need to go higher Somebody that's done it before and done it well before..IMO
Tom Brady was not hired as a consultant. He's a minority owner.
