Fall of NFC Teams should make us aggressive

Some NFL teams are imploding this off-season, this could be a real opportunity for us to make a team that can consistently make it deep into the playoffs...

I think most would agree that we're now easily the best team in the NFC East. We make substantial improvements to our defense, and we should have no issue beating the Giants even with Victor Cruz.

As far as top NFL teams are concerned, you can say goodbye to the Eagles and 49ers, and you could make the argument that the Lions are probably not going to be nearly as good on defense short of a miracle.

Really boils down to what Green Bay and Arizona do going forward. I still maintain that we're a better team as far as match ups go than Seattle and that was team I was waiting to see implode. I'm surprised it was the Eagles, not so surprised about the 49ers though.

We really need to get Dez signed to that long term deal, and we need to get some pieces settled on this defensive line before the draft.

I think the Niners will struggle trying to find their way back to the playoffs.
I think the Eagles will struggle.
I can see either the Commanders or Giants having a better year and maybe challenge, but it wont be enough.

I think we beat GB last year. I think we can beat Seattle/Arizona.
One of those NFCS teams will put together a season.....and be legit..

But. I think your right. We should be pushing this year. I love what the FO is doing, but it wouldn't be all that bad, if we got some FA defensive players...

The schedule is pretty tough this year; But if we can get some HFA, maybe a bye on WC Weekend. And barring injuries. We should be contending for a SB.

I think the biggest reason I feel this way , is not because of any player. But more to do with the coordinators/Coaching. Lets just pick up where we left off and continue to push;

Were going to lose a few here and there. Lets just hope we make it into the playoffs, because unlike other playoff teams we have had in Dallas the last 15 20 years...... This team can beat anybody.

Its all really going to depend on rod and the defense. Our d will be less talented than last year. But last years was less talented than the years before but rod being at the helm made it work. Aside from finding a good rb to replace murrary the offense should be ok.

All talk on Paper before a game is played.

Sure one might look better than another on paper...but there is a reason they play the games.

If on Paper before the games are played counted...Commanders and the Eagles would have had multiple Superbowl titles in the last 10 years or so.

I still won't rule any team out. It's way too early to say what any team will be. Sure, can take a good educated guess, and some not so educated, but still early.
I predict though, no matter what, the pundits will down play the Cowboys still. But a few may keep them near the top. All depending FA and the draft of course.

It sucks we're in the Aaron Rodgers window in the same conference but--

It's mitigated by the fact we're in the Tony Romo window on our own team.

I'll take the wait and see approach before crown us the NFC crown. There are some strange moves going on that is true and we look like we are playing it smart. But it isn't the end all on 3/9

I would not agree with that, actually. It's a year to year league and a play here or there goes a long way to determining who wins this division.

I still the Cowboys, Packers, and Seahawks as the cream of the NFC crop next year.

Seattle has maybe taken a small hit with the loss of Maxwell, however, I don't think it will make a big difference. I worry about the jump they'll make offensively if they have a WR who isn't an undrafted free agent.

If the Packers resign Bulaga it's hard to argue that the Packers aren't still a ascending team.

For me, the story of the Cowboys and whether the arrow is pointing up, down, or flat depends on whether Murray or Adrian Peterson is toating the rock next season as well as a improvement of the pass rush.

You completely lost me with that one.

carter, durant, mcclain, moore will be gone. We going to sign guys like rivers to take their place. Probably draft a guy for de. The d line will basically be the same. lb core will be a lot less talented.

We made the playoffs once, with a mediocre defense. We've got a ways to go before we're consistent contenders.

I would make an exception and overpay for a talented young pass rusher if one is available, but otherwise, we should do what we've been doing. It's working.

You don't know that...Didn't we get McClain just before the draft. Be patient....calm down...chill...
Will McClay will see us through! Jerry & Jason said so.

Or, Carter will be gone and we'll devote the draft and VFA to upgrading the rest of the defense. Too soon to say.

As of right now, with Mcclain, Carter and Durant set to hit FA, I think its fair to say the Defense is less talented. However, FA has not officially started and we haven't had the draft so its a moot point.

The Eagles though, I don't see improving their team over last years even this early. They've lost way too much talent to actually add all of that back before the season starts. Cap space is nice, but 32 teams compete for these players. At best I could see them being similar to last year.

I sorta agree overall.
but the NFL axiom is something like this: while some teams regress (what a mess, I digress) ever year there are always others on the rise. (Four years we never would half taken the Seahawks and 49ers seriously.)
And for the love of Mike, let us not dismiss the Eagles this early.
Also, while I agree the Cowboys are (now) the elite of the NFC, if our defense stay the way it is, we are doomed to make a early exit from the playoffs, if at all.

Lets use cautous optimism and worry about the defense. the offense don't need work.

I see the Cowboys , Seahawks and Packers at the top too. And they are all evenly matched up.
If AZ finds a QB then I would put them in that group too....
I can see the Lions, Carolina, Falcons challenging, and maybe Giants/Commanders/Eagles(if they put it together)....

It is a year to year league for sure and it is early, ..but its fun to make predictions as a fan.

I ddin't say anything about the offense. I said let's get help on defense.
