I completely agree and I, like Jerry, am surprised they're 3 and 1. And you have to like what we've seen out of our QB and RB.

Here's the thing. Most folks are pretty surprised and happy the team is 3 and 1. But some folks are very guardedly optimistic and I can't blame them. Speaking for myself, I'll never settle for being relevant; that's just Jerry selling an inferior product/result. If that makes me a bad fan, so be it. But not many folks are jumping ship, as the Op stated. Let's keep it real.
Who exactly is asking you to settle? You're the one who's jumping into theses threads telling people to not be excited. That you know when it's time to be excited. I know you said we haven't won the Super Bowl so I'm guessing that's when you've decided we can be happy.

All anyone is saying is 3-1 evidence the team we root for has played well and it's something to be excited about.

You actually argued that being upset over the team one roots for and not feeling enthusiastic about posting after a loss was the same thing as a fan not feeling good about a win and not posting. Why would a fan of a team not feel good about posting after a win?

Man. That was stupid.:)

I'll tell you what stupid is. Stupid is posting something that someone never said. Stupid is interpreting something that's written in black and white and putting your own spin on it.

Show me where I jumped into any thread and told people not to be excited? That I know when it's time to be excited? Matter of fact, I've posted many times here that I'm happy we're 3 and 1 and have defended it with posters here. I've even defended the D who made the stop on the last possession against the 49ers.

And your last reference to our previous discussion is worthless and wrong. I won't rehash it because it's not the topic of this thread.

If you like relevance, then have at it. We're 3 and 1 and pointing int he right direction which is more than most folks expected. But we haven't won anything yet and it's early in the season so I'm not going to jump up and down and be excited for being relevant. As I said, some folks are very cautious and I can't blame them when you look at this current coaching staff and GM and their history with a franchise QB. If you think we're over the hump at 3 and 1, good for you. You can't point me to one post where I've been critical of you for that. But don't talk to me about buzz words like "relevance." That's not my goal for this franchise.

You see the same things on other boards during the games. It's how a lot of fans are lol. There really isn't much to complain about though. Even the coaching staff has stepped up this season.

Yeah, I'm sure not complaining. I can honestly say that I was really worried going into Sunday's game against San Francisco, mainly due to the players missing. But this team really showed me something, once again, especially the quarterback. That kid has been nothing short of amazing.

I'm not getting the sense of fans being unhappy so I don't really know where this original post is coming from?

What did you do in this thread?

This is what you said in response to me saying some fans disappear and don't post during a WIN streak:

"I've seen some posters completely disappear during and after 2015. You know.....no "thoughts" on the game, no film breakdown, no defending the coaching staff, no defending our drafting prowess of McClay and company, etc. All those eat crow threads during the 2014 season seemed to disappear. It cuts both ways......"

Again, you feel there's some equivalence of posters not posting after their team loses to a poster not posting after "their team" wins. It was an odd argument to make.

Some folks are either not really fans or are spoiled brats that want everything. Unable to be happy, or worse, get upset with others who are happy and remind them "this is isn't Super Bowl" and other obvious crap everyone realizes. We're simply happy because we are playing good and this angers you for some reason. You then try to dampen others enthusiasm telling them "if you're happy with relevance" then blah blah blah.

What was this about????

This isn't telling others to not be excited? How would you describe it?

Controlled jubilation?:D

I've been on this site for quite a while, posted very few threads, but one thing I've noticed are some fans have a quick trigger to jump ship... things do not go right ALL the time.. we are 3 and 1. Thats what we are, we have stiffer competition coming, but just like you worry playing them, I invite you to read msg boards of opponents, they worry about the Cowboys, that should give you what you need, we are relevant,.. I posted that the defense may surprise you, they are not great, but offense is the off setting factor. Be happy, we are 3 and 1. We are relevant.
Keep in mind that some posters here are fans of other teams pretending to be Cowboys fans.

So far I am wrong on Dak

I am not painting myself in a corner. If I'm wrong I'll own up to it, but many fans won't though for whatever the reason. I think some just don't want to be wrong, because they think they know better, and that don't.

It isn't they are jumping ship, they have painted themselves into a corner with "Dak is worthless" "With Zeke this team is 4-12 again should have gotten Ramsey" "Garrett can't even breathe right" statements that they would actually rather have the Cowboys fail to solidify their "status" on an Internet message board than have the team on an upward path
QFT. Painted themselves into a corner where they can't celebrate our successes because it is proof that they were wrong. It's OK to have a "negative" opinion, but when you start disparaging your favorite team because you are married to that opinion, it's a problem.

You know what. That is exactly what happens. Balance is the important thing...if it is working why be negative.

That is true. It is the typical, we will lose but I hope I am wrong type post. If we lose, you get see told you. If we win, no one calls them on it.

That being said, I believe that Garrett is not the guy to get us to the promised land.

What did you do in this thread?

I ask you to show me where I jumped into any thread and told people not to be excited. you couldn't and you can't.

As I said in the other thread, you make certain assumptions and those assumptions are wrong. Specifically, that folks disappear because the team wins. Most of the regular posters have been here for years. Many of the folks you and a couple of thers seem to call out are still here. They have tens of thousands of posts and were here in 2014.

Maybe you're new here, but folks disappeared in 2015. Those were the folks that have spent years defending Garrett and Jerry. They left because they had all their CZ board cred invested in Garrett and Jerry. If you haven't noticed, these folks went to a rival board, similar in name to this one which, BTW, I think is cheap, recruited folks on this board and made that site private; it's by invitation only and no dissenting opinions allowed. It's homer heaven. So please don't sit here and tell me that folks here run off because we're winning when in large part just the opposite is true.

So because I may not agree with you I'm not a real Cowboys fan? This is the lamest argument some folks make here.

In any event, you need to follow along in the thread if you're going to repond to it/me. This thread was about @cross believing people are jumping ship. I don't even know what that means when all the regular posters are still here adding to their post count. The Op himself has 112 posts since 2004. Does that mean he's a bad fan or that he only posts when we have a winning record (which may explain his lack of posts.) I don't make that assumption. I don't question his fanhood because of his post count or when he posts. I'm simply disagreeing with A) his premise that folks are jumping ship because we're 3 and 1 and B) his comment that we are "relevant." That seems to be the new buzz word in Cowboy Land, along with players "playing hard," not giving up, defending .500 as some successful benchmark because it not a "losing" season, RKG, passion, etc. If we had as many wins and we've had new buzz words to defend Garrett and company, we'd make the playoffs ever single season and then some.
