Fans are hard to please

I've been on this site for quite a while, posted very few threads, but one thing I've noticed are some fans have a quick trigger to jump ship... things do not go right ALL the time.. we are 3 and 1. Thats what we are, we have stiffer competition coming, but just like you worry playing them, I invite you to read msg boards of opponents, they worry about the Cowboys, that should give you what you need, we are relevant,.. I posted that the defense may surprise you, they are not great, but offense is the off setting factor. Be happy, we are 3 and 1. We are relevant.

Agree
We have 2 whole playoff wins in 20 years
What more do these fair weather fans want?

I ask you to show me where I jumped into any thread and told people not to be excited. you couldn't and you can't.

As I said in the other thread, you make certain assumptions and those assumptions are wrong. Specifically, that folks disappear because the team wins. Most of the regular posters have been here for years. Many of the folks you and a couple of thers seem to call out are still here. They have tens of thousands of posts and were here in 2014.

Maybe you're new here, but folks disappeared in 2015. Those were the folks that have spent years defending Garrett and Jerry. They left because they had all their CZ board cred invested in Garrett and Jerry. If you haven't noticed, these folks went to a rival board, similar in name to this one which, BTW, I think is cheap, recruited folks on this board and made that site private; it's by invitation only and no dissenting opinions allowed. It's homer heaven. So please don't sit here and tell me that folks here run off because we're winning when in large part just the opposite is true.

So because I may not agree with you I'm not a real Cowboys fan? This is the lamest argument some folks make here.

In any event, you need to follow along in the thread if you're going to repond to it/me. This thread was about @cross believing people are jumping ship. I don't even know what that means when all the regular posters are still here adding to their post count. The Op himself has 112 posts since 2004. Does that mean he's a bad fan or that he only posts when we have a winning record (which may explain his lack of posts.) I don't make that assumption. I don't question his fanhood because of his post count or when he posts. I'm simply disagreeing with A) his premise that folks are jumping ship because we're 3 and 1 and B) his comment that we are "relevant." That seems to be the new buzz word in Cowboy Land, along with players "playing hard," not giving up, defending .500 as some successful benchmark because it not a "losing" season, RKG, passion, etc. If we had as many wins and we've had new buzz words to defend Garrett and company, we'd make the playoffs ever single season and then some.
That's what you did in this thread. Jump in and dampen good feelings. I clearly pointed that out to you twice in two different quoted responses. The second time I quoted your first response in this thread doing exactly what I said you did. Read back.

How do you know who I'm even talking about and after what circumstances they don't post?--ya don't

I'm specifically talking about certain people who post a lot when losing. They complain all off season and into the losses. I watched carefully in 2014 and they weren't to be found.

Fans who stick with their team through all the losing are, by definition, better fans.;)

Here it is one more time for you.

This isn't telling others not to be excited?

How would you describe it?

Don't get full of yourself, this thread isn't about you.

If I dampened someone's day because I disagreed with his ascertion on a message board, well too bad. Go write to your wife, mom, child or significant other if they always agree with you.

Because I may be critical of certain aspects of the team, that doesn't mean I or others don't stick with them. I mean, it has been 20 years since we say a SB but folks are still here so why are you still complaining? It's your fragile ego and sensitivity that's the problem and constantly defending the team, coach, or owner, regardless of results, is being a homer, not a better fan. You're actually the worst kind of fan because Jerry won't need to change anything knowing that you'll lap up and defend every single thing he does, regardless of results. You're a super homer, not a super fan.

But I thought you never did that?

Great self awareness. It makes me really value your opinion.

Hold on Kemosabe plenty of fans did not disappear during the 2015 campaign I for one, was livid with the ship jumpers that just the year before was giving the mea culpa and then as soon as a bad year came they went right back to the Jason is a bad coach, its all bla blas fault it, was sickening. I have a lot of bent of frustrations about this subject and its coming out in this thread. Buzz Killers and they think of them selves as the rational ones.

I'm not talking about a random poster, but some of the main characters. All I said was that it cut both ways.

And any criticism of Garrett wasn't sickening. He was the coach of a 4 and 12 team who couldn't win without Romo with a team he supposedely revamped and rebuilt. If you want sickening, go reqatch some games from last season. It was down right embarassing.

who coached a 2014 team to 12 and 4 and came to within a bad call of the championship. Those that have so little judgement that they cant see Jason is going to be a great coach and complain constantly look uninformed [JMHO}

This is year 6, not year 2. I hope you live long enough to see him become a great coach becaue in an NFL built on parity where fortunes can change overnight, he's had 1 winning season with a franchise QB. When the wins keep coming, I'll defend him. Otherwise, the only idiot is someone defending a .500 HC.

lets leave this discussion you and I disagree and time will tell who is right

I dont see much negativity, just people saying they have not played a good team yet.
good team meaning a team that was in playoffs last year.
Well Commanders were in playoffs, but I guess they dont count lol.

people post their opinions, and some will be overly negative, and some overly positive etc.

Here is a negative, I dont think dunbar should be in the game when inside the 10, I dont trust him with fumbling, and I think
the smarter thing is to have elliot or morris in. Just my opinion.

I dont like the jumbo formation inside the 10 or really anytime, have wr and spread the defense out then run it.

Those are not negatives, just observations and personal takes. We're talking about those posters who get mad when fellow Cowboys fans are happy. Afrer we win, they either disappear until something bad happens or stay here and try to piss all over any thread where people are expressing their appreciation for a Cowboys job well done.

Man, I'm sorry I obviously missed somethng big....when did we win the Super Bowl? Oh, never mind....we're celebrating relevance again.
For the now, what forth time???,

Here it is for, I think the forth time, here you told everyone not to be excited.

Again, how would YOU describe this.
