I never watched the cartoons and know next to nothing about them. Not sure of they have the same characters or completely different ones.

Lets hear your favorites!

Star Trek - The Original Series

This one was easy for me. He has always been my favorite.
  • Scotty
Because Scotty! I love his outlook on how he handles his job. His brashness and blustery Irishness along with how he promises something at 4 hours when he knows he can get it done in 2 hours and look like a hero!

She's given it all she's got Captain!

Runner up: Nope, not Captain James T. Kirk, it's Spock!
Star Trek - The Next Generation
This one is a lot more difficult. Picard, Worf, Q, and Wesley were some of my favorites, but if I had to choose one.
  • Jordy La Forge
To be honest. I really didn't find any of them really stand out as a favorite character. I know that the Captain's seat is one of the most important and without questions makes or breaks a Star Trek series. I just didn't feel many characters had a lot of depth and style that really attracts me. As a whole, they got enough from the entire cast to make a great series.

Runner up: Captain Jean-Luc Picard
Star Trek - Deep Space Nine
This series was the hardest to watch of all of them initially. Once I got through all seven seasons the first time, now it's much easier though I still tend to skip the episodes that deal with Kai Winn and Vedeks. I also can't stand the ending with Kai Winn and Gul Dukat. That was awful and extremely lame. I always skip those scenes all together when I watch it the last season of it.
  • Garek
Garek is my favorite for the same reason Tyrion Lannister became my favorite on GoT (though that changed after he joined Dany and quit being quick witted) Garek is highly intelligent, quick witted and highly sarcastic. (love sarcasm!) I love his indirect (back-handed) insults along with his very direct insults. He always came off as evil, but underneath he wasn't. (like Tyrion early in GoT) I find that very likable.

Runner up: Kira Nerys
Star Trek - Voyager
This is an interesting one too. My choice likely would have been Captain Janeway except for a couple of episodes that I really disliked her in. Obviously it had nothing to do with the actor as it was the writing that made her seem very uncaptainly. That is a black eye for that character.
  • Seven of Nine
This has really next to nothing to do with the fact that she is very attractive. (though it certainly doesn't hurt) It has a lot more to do with any episode she appeared in, she was part of the driving force of those episodes. She is also supremely talented. She shows off a lot of acting range in many episodes where she is taken control of or has some sort of mind control. She can clearly sing very well as seen in The Killing Game episode.

I didn't hate Kes like a lot of Star Trek fans did, but Seven of Nine was a definite upgrade to the cast.

Runner Up: B'Elanna Torres (it's gotta be an engineering thing or something hah)
Star Trek - Enterprise
The greatest thing about Star Trek series is their casting. They do some a wonderful job and most of the cast weren't big stars to begin with. HBO is good about building casts out of relatively unknown people.
  • Trip Tucker
This was tough between Trip and the runner up. The reason I took Trip is he was far more integral part of the show. My runner up would likely have taken the spot if she were higher ranked and got more camera time.

Runner up: Hoshi Sato

I liked Hoshi because of her attitude and how her character changed over the four year run. She went from an extremely smart, but scared of everything to a commanding solider by the shows end. Sort of like Ensign Kim, but sometimes Kim's came off more forced.

I debated T'Pol also as she had some transformation also, but in truth. I think the Vulcan in her acting sometimes came off and forced too. Though I am a huge fan of her character in the show also. She was definitely better in the last years than she was in the first two.
Star Trek - Discovery
This one is by far the easiest to choose.
  • Captain Christopher Pike
Every single series that I've watched. I started liking the Captain in the first season, but it usually took more than one season to really grow on me as one of the quintessential stalwart Federation Captain they always seem to turn into. Not Anson Mount's Captain Christopher Pike. He made for an incredible Captain. By the episode Through the Valley of Shadows, his spot was secured in season one!

Runner up: Michael Burnham.

If Captain Gabriel Lorca lasted beyond season one, it would most likely be him as the runner up. Though Philippa Georglou was in the running also.

Star Trek - The Original Series

Scotty by a landslide. Runner up Doctor McCoy. Honorable mention: Kevin Riley

Star Trek - The Next Generation

Data. The discovery of self is often an interesting journey. Close runner up: Lieutenant Reginald Barclay

Star Trek - Deep Space Nine

Garek by a landslide. Runner up: Doctor Bashier

Star Trek - Voyager

Trick question on this one cause the show sucked. If I had to pick a favorite? Either the species 8472 character Boothby played by Ray Walston, or Lieutenant Reginald Barclay. I enjoyed the doctor at first and didn't like where they went with him.

Star Trek - Enterprise

Trip Tucker by a landslide. There was not one character on this show that made me roll my eyes when an episode was focused around that character. Not since TOS had that happened.

Star Trek - Discovery

Since I don't watch the show, I can only go by clips that I've seen. Going by that I'd have to pick Christopher Pike. The actor nailed it.

Original series - Kirk (Cocky, ladies man, funny, ballsy)

TNG - Data (Hilariously oblivious for a being so intelligent)

Voyager - Seven, Tom Paris (Seven, because she's constantly fighting her humanity, then eventually constantly fighting to stay free of the Borg collective) (Paris 2nd, because he's the most down to Earth, laid back person on the ship, despite having an admiral for a father)

Enterprise - Hoshi (Smart enough to be Captain, but just lacked confidence)

DS9 - Dax (Hot..... and I never really liked the show enough to care about the characters)

Jadzia Dax was in a way DS9's version of Data. The jack of all trades, do everything person.

I liked Barclay's role in Voyager much more than TNG.

I liked Barclay character. Especially in Voyager, but If there is one thing that can get on my nerves, it's whining and whiny voices and Barclay whines incessantly! It's pretty much the same reason I hate Grand Nagus Zek too. The voice just gets on my nerves in a hurry.

That's why I liked him in Voyager more. He started off the same sniveling, meek Barclay, but when everything was on the line for the Voyager crew, he grew a pair and came through when nobody else did. After that, he gained even footing with most everyone else. It was a good redemption story.

I really hate people who urge me into making difficult choices.:p My favorites:

L0119WT.jpg

Captain James Tiberius Kirk

Brash. Ladies man. Superb poker player. Each week I looked forward to seeing what challenges the galaxy would throw at Kirk and wonder how he would beat them, while laughing with that boyish smile of his.

Favorite Kirk episode: The Doomsday Machine

wsufpjT.jpg

Lieutenant Commander Worf

Indomitable. Loyal to a fault. Prideful. Worf was the ultimate warrior, who would sacrifice all for the sake of Klingon honor. ST:TOS instilled a silly hatred in me for fictional Klingon characters but Worf made me love them.

Favorite Worf Episode: Redemption

fmVp2r3.jpg

Chief of Security (Constable) Odo

Aloof. Enigmatic. A unique soul, even after he found his people. Odo fascinated me. A channeling. He could literally morph himself into anyone or any object but he used his truly amazing gift modestly and sparingly. This was the hardest choice for me because I loved Sisko but Odo won me over in the end.

Favorite Odo Episode: Chimera

7htjiLM.jpg

Chief Engineer B'Elanna Torres

Fiesty. Super intelligent. Relentless. Torres is the closest hybrid character i enjoy most besides Spock (Nimoy). Her human side was passionate about anything that interested her most and her Klingon side ramped her passion at the most opportune or inopportune moments.

Favorite Torres Episode: Day of Honor

xc8cBEE.jpg

Commander T'Pol

Observant. Critical. Vulcan. In my opinion the BEST Vulcan characterization since Nimoy. Unlike Seven of Nine or Commander Troi, T'Pol was sexy as hell without any applied effort on her part. It was awesome watching T'Pol transformation from the non-human outsider into one of the most human-like characters of the crew.

Favorite T'Pol Episode: Carbon Creek

HVaLJj8.jpg

Captain/Terran Emperor/Section 31 Operative Philippa Georgiou

Deviously clever. Kirk-like brashness. Unrepentant. (I really dislike that Michelle Yeoh does not get MORE facetime) I was hoping in becoming invested in Georgiou the starship captain but that was short-lived. However, Georgiou the displaced galactic emperor has been a personal treat for me. There is nothing she will not do to get what she wants--unless it has something to do with her only weakness, Michael.

Favorite Georgiou Episode: Vaulting Ambition
