Favorite Patriotic Songs

In honor of our nation's founding what are your favorite patriotic songs? There are a lot in country music.

"America" by Ray Charles gives me chills and is my absolute favorite. I think it is one of the greatest songs ever and no one can do it like Ray could.

"In America" by Charlie Daniels and "Courtesy of the Red, White, and Blue" by Toby Keith rank right up there for me.

Trace Adkins has one that is really amazing called "I Made it to Arlington."

I'm very fond of one by Merle Haggard called "The Fightin' Side of Me."

Same thing also happens when I hear America, **** Yeah.

While I love the vocal patriotic songs, the one song that totally grabs me is Stars and Stripes Forever.

I was listening last night to the Boston Pops play it, which is traditional on July 4th, and when it gets to the end when it goes through the big ******, and picks right up with the piccolos trilling...chills! It is such a powerful song.

I'm also a sucker for an all-male choral arangement of any patriotic song (America the Beautiful, Star-Spangled Banner - of course). I remember hearing some military men's choir, from the Citadel maybe, and it was really incredible.
