With Madden retiring and with the announcer thread on here I was youtubing old announcers and came across several old and current NFL theme music. Which is your favorite???

NFL ON FOX

NOTE: I start getting pumped up about 6 seconds in because thats when they usually show the field for the first time with the players warming up. Then I remember its April and I come back to reality.

NOTE: Not bad, it has the football feel. I just think it needs more time to catch on.

NOTE: Maybe because I was a kid hearing this alot but I really like it. I remember living on the east coast we got alot of 4 o'clock games and saw alot of Broncos and Raider games with this version. One of the best imo.

NFL ON CBS 80's

NOTE: I remember this because when I was like 3 or so this was my first taste of network pregame. This song will always be with me. I remember the quote "You are looking live at soliders field where today the Bears will be playing the Packers." Instant classic.

Current NFL ON NBC

NOTE: I hated this at first but it has caught on. I thought orginally it sounded like an olympic games theme song but its catchy now.

Without a doubt, it's the current NBC Football Night in America. I get chills when it comes on. Especially when you go to a sunday night game and they play it in the stadium.

I love the Fox music. I actually get most of those songs together, make one long track of it, and play it at the beginning of our fantasy football draft. Gets everyone in the mood for football.

It's not exactly a theme song, but for almost a decade NFL games always ended with a United Airlines signoff.

This is a later, full-length version, but the signoff was usually shorter with a "Thanks for watching this NFL production" voice-over by the play-by-play man.

For me, if it followed a late game it was bittersweet because I loved watching games, but this meant the football day was over (pre-NFL Primetime, etc).

Loved the NFL Today's intro from the late 70's to early 80's and like the current Fox's as well, along with all the NFL Films classics.

"You are looking live..." was a classic line. I loved the old NFL Today on CBS. Now I rarely watch the pregame shows.

I loved the classic line. I hated Brent Musburger. He made Sundays unbearable with his Cowboys hatred. Of course it was balanced by Phyllis George and Jayne Kennedy who gushed all over the Dallas players. Musburger hated it.:laugh2:

Hank on Monday Night and NFL on Fox have always been my favorites and there are not others that are even close.

i think the best one in the nfl is the fox one. but by far the best one EVER in ANY sport was the old NBA on NBC song!! fact!

My all-time favorite opening music is NFL Today on CBS in the late 1970s. The 1983 version posted on here is similar, but I like the older one better.

My second favorite is the Monday Night opening that Doomsday101 posted. That's classic.

That's the one I was referring to as well.
