Federal drug agents conducted surprise inspections of National Football League team medical staffs on Sunday as part of an ongoing investigation into prescription drug abuse in the league. The inspections, which entailed bag searches and questioning of team doctors by Drug Enforcement Administration agents in cooperation with the Transportation Security Administration, were based on the suspicion that NFL teams dispense drugs illegally to keep players on the field in violation of the Controlled Substances Act, according to a senior law enforcement official with knowledge of the investigation.

Hmmm this could get interesting. I just hope the Cowboys are not involved. I do get worried with how they deal with Romo injuries tho.

Probably right. I bet there is very little somebody like Jerry couldnt do with a phone call. 4 billion dollars will buy just about anything.

Possibly, but I wasn't thinking along those terms. I think the league is working with the feds in cooperation of this investigation. The owners may not have known the exact date of the inspections, but I am sure they were aware they were going to happen.

And yet, not one arrest of any banker or corporate executive responsible for the 2008 financial crisis. I guess the League didn't contribute enough campaign money to keep the Feds off their backs.

Drug policy in this country is stupid.

So very correct.
I've had the happy fortune of dating a few women from countries other than ours (France, Lebanon, Denmark and Israel to be exact) and every one of them thought us Americans were so Puritanical when it came to drugs.

The one from Israel (an amazing human who was a surgeon, sculptor, oil painter, philosopher of some renown and published author- she was so entirely intimidating if I'm going to be honest about the whole thing that we broke up because I didn't think I could possibly deserve someone so transcendent although I can be a formidable person myself if I chose... Thankfully I recovered nicely from such a stupid and ignorant decision and I hope she is with a much better man than I was at that time) constantly made comments about how she didn't understand the prudishness of Americans as opposed to the rest of the World when it came to such trivial things.

I like to think I'm an enlightened individual with the rakish smile acknowledging that there are many around me who believe I am the worst scoundrel for my beloved habits despite my many contributions to my loved ones, ones in need (monetary and beyond) and our dear animal friends. Drugs, like alcohol merely enhance what you wish to be. We allow some and not others that are no worse than the ones we allow. Screams of monetary manipulation and nothing less- like the Disastrous War on Drugs that even staunch conservatives are now renouncing it slowly one by one.

Eh... yet another non-football related posted from me to all of you.
I need to learn to step off the soap-box...

That's how Favre got hooked.

I'm sure team doctors today regulate it pretty strictly.
