This game made it official. When he's a feature part of the game, we're nearly unstoppable on offense.

He just gives us a completely different dimension on offense. With Austin and Felix, we have our gamebreakers to bust the offense wide open and combine it with a dominating defense.

If that happens I like our chances for a Lombardi.

I agree with Dallas' plan during the season to not run him into the ground, and share the load in the backfield. That saves him for the playoffs, where he needs to be the lead horse.

This is where you let it all hang out to win the big prize.

Yeah, it was. It was there from the first time I posted it. I never edited it.

He's ok, but most of his yards came on one run. If you take away that 73 yard run, he was only averaging 5 yards per carry.

:D

Which would be at the top of the league and incredible for playoffs.

This can't be true. I specifically remember a certain poster saying that Felix was "trash."

I'm curious how many of Felix's reps tonight were due to MB3's injury.

Regardless, Felix sure looks like he's hitting stride at the right time.

I won't dispute this thread, but MBIII is still my guy. He has proven that he is durable between the tackles, he can finish off plays in punishing fashion, and as of late he has shown he can run toss sweeps really well. I mean, it is a hell of a luxury to have 3 quality backs - especially this time of year. And I still think MBIII still has a lot left in his tank. Hats off to the coaching staff for rotating all 3 of these guys all year. In the playoffs, you need to be able to run the ball. It's the basketball equivalent of going inside to your big men. The coaching staff did it flawlessly all year and look at us now. All 3 of our guys are a threat.

I can't deny what I saw in Felix Jones. If not for my questions about his durability, I would say let's feature him. But not yet. I need to see him healthy for a full season. He still hasn't had a 20+ carry game for us. That 16 carry 148 yard game is an eye opener and hopefully is a glimpse of things to come.

Glad the front office picked him over Mendenhall! Props!!

I don't want Dallas to get rid of MBIII, but he has been nicked up a lot since being the #1 back. To the point where he can't play, in some cases, and where isn't very effective in others.

Felix and Austin have been the players for some time. I don't know why, but it did, take the coaching staff way too long to realize that.

I can't explain it either. It took an infuriatingly long time before these guys got their shots. It was obvious long ago that Felix was our best RB with the ball in his hands - he averaged 9 ypc as a rookie before he got hurt yet Garrett still limits his carries all year (and yes, I know he was injured and then took some time to trust his knee).

I agree with not overusing him in the regular season but he often got 5 or less carries. That is just stupid.

Felix should get about 15 carries a game which would get him a bit over 200 carries per year. I also would like to see him catch the ball 3-5 times a game and not just dumpoffs in the flat. I want us to become a great screen team because Felix is so good at running them.

When you have a great RB you have to use him more than we did.

I don't know what we do with Barber. If salary issues precipitate a move, we should bring in a vet or draft someone around 4th round.

Wow, can we stop all the talk about trading Barber away? The man has served Dallas well over the years and he deserves more respect than this.

Yes, Felix is an explosive player, but that's no reason to cut Barber.

Well said... and I agree 100%. barber is a warrior and I, for one, hope the two make a dynamic and powerful duo for the next few years. Oh, and bring home a few Lombardi's along the ride.

From now on I don't want to see any less than 15 carries and any more than 20 carries from Felix. That should be about the right range of carries for him. What's great is that he seems to have hit that final gear at the exact right time.

I almost started a thread this week along the lines of "Felix -- Do people realize how good he is?"

Stupid me for not doing it. :D

What a great talent. How lucky are we to be able to watch this guy do his thing for the next several years.

Agreed. If he would stop dancing at the line, things would be fine. Did you see the way Felix hit those holes?
