Felix Jones vs LSU

Thanks man, great job.

The first ones weren't very impressive, to say the least... And those were outside runs.

But you know what, he almost looked better running inside. He showed some toughness and strength and fought pretty hard to get what was there.

Nice video, when he has space he's really a terror, but he actually looked pretty bad to me when a crowd was around, he doesn't really turn nothing into something, I guess that's why we need Barber.

I also didn't see much in the way of wiggle either, but maybe that's just not his game.

Not that impressed but never really have been by him. I still think Charles gives you the same things as Felix except we could have traded down into the second and maybe picked up an extra second to get a WR.

Well, he's our guy now so have to cheer for him to do well.

That's some impressive running. Especially if you notice how the LSU line dominated that Offensive line. Felix Jones is going to love Dallas offensive line. I am not sure which defensive player from LSU took down like 3 linemen from Arkansas it was funny :lmao:.

He looks like he has a nose for the endzone. I also like how he doesnt try to do too much, he will catch a ball and take a quick 5 rather than trying to juke and get 3.

the LSU defense were waiting for felix to take it outside and he ran right into them-he got better as the game went on though.

we better use him wisely because initially felix has some limitations.

Good point, he's not a dancer in the backfield, which I think is good. Not a lot of wasted steps alla one Reggie Bush.

For being just one game, I was fairly impressed. I saw him make several nice cuts, he looked good catching passes, and he got stronger as the game went on. One thing I also noticed is all you have to do is give him a small seam and he can split it wide open, I can't wait to see what he'll do with Houck and our massive OL.

I like the replay of the play at 2:49. Bunch of guys falling everywhere.

Felix was going against the #1 team at the time. Glen Dorsey, supposedly the best defensive player in the draft.

The one thing that concerns me on some of those YouTube vidoes is you see him caught from behind on many occasions (not in this one, but others). I think that's where the lack of true straight speed comes into play. To Jones' credit, though, it seems like the majority of such runs came earlier in his career. Any idea if he got faster as he matured there?

So-so video here. Looks like he has nice lateral movement, quick feet and runs hard. You get a glimpse of some of the Reggie Bush-type ways we can use him, if Garrett wants to get creative. But you also see how ineffective he can be in such plays against a solid and ready defense (much like the real Reggie Bush in the NFL).

Felix Jones against LSU

-----9 rushes

-----89 yards

-----9.4 ypc

Looked like a carbon copy of JJ the last 3 years to me. Very unimpressive.

When did JJ ever have a 9.4 ypc. When the game was on the line at the goaline he was the back they went to in the I formation.
