The new season starts this Sunday Night. :bull:

And from the previews they have been showing lately...it looks to be another good season.

Thanks for the heads up. I haven't been watching much HBO lately so I've missed the previews.

Dang it you beat me too it but no biggie. The drama they have been previewing between Bullock and Swearingen is going to be interesting. I'm glad they brought back Jane. She had some of the best lines :D

No Problem...they have been showing the first season over, 3 shows a night, this week and I forgot how much I liked that show.

I think it starts Sunday night at 9PM est :)

Just got done watching the episode entitled, "Mr. Wu" - it is my all-time favorite.

One of my favorite lines is when EB walks up to the bar next to Al, and asks:

EB: Anything your mayor should know?

Al: Yeah - the name of a decent tailor.

Sundays are going to rock over the next few weeks - Deadwood at 9:00 & Carnivale at 10:00.

It feels like Deadwood just ended and already it has a second season. *** takes The Sopranos so long? I'd like to hurry up and see that last season! And while I'm at it... I can't wait to see that next Lost episode! Especially now that we've figured out who may have caused the plane crash. You see why I can't pick up too many of the best shows on television? I obsess over them unil the next episode or season. ;)

I have not watched it either...I am thinking about watching it now though...catch some of the older shows on HBO on demand.

Yes it was a good start.
I really did not expect for them to show the al/bullock fight so soon into the season...I expected they would wait till the middle of the season.

Also, I am wondering if down the road if Dan feels that Young Adams is being primed to be his replacement with Al and the groundwork for that has been laid already...seems like they may have a battle between those two that should be fun to watch.

Very good show, and even though Jane was just a blip on the radar it reminds us that she is still around. It also makes us realize that she never really went anywhere other then right outside of camp.

While watching the re-runs I realized she said something to the effect that she could not drink inside the camp where Wild Bill was buried and she also could not stop drinking right now so she left.
I think we figured she was gone to another camp or area, but it appears she just went back into the woods outside of camp....either way it was funny her waking from a drunken stupor just to yell her famous line while the stage coach passes.

Duane, Carnivale is probably the most underrated show on TV. It is the X-Files, but in a good vs. evil motif, with tons of religious overtones, and with a better overall arc.

IMO, though, it would be very difficult to jump into the show now. They spent the entire first season (which is now available on DVD) setting up the characters, and just now the plot has taken shape. With only 3 episodes left this season, it may be a little hard to absorb.

It is a very strange show, though. Strangely addictive. It's strange on the same plane as the movie Blue Velvet.

The acting is excellent, as is the screenplay and the writing.

Bet I'd really like it then. I'm a huge X-Files fan.

I liked the first two seasons of that show when the FBI would visit a new freak show every week but the show completely lost me once it started creating a vast conspiracy story. I'm hoping Lost doesn't turn into the X-Files once more mysteries are explained. It's nice to leave the unknown as the unknown. :)

I just wanted to say that this thread convinced me to go ahead and buy the Deadwood Season One DVD set so I could catch up on it since season two is just now starting, and that show is addicting as hell! I've been watching one episdode right after the next. Al Swearingen has got to be one of the coldest SOBs I've ever seen in a television show. I'm to the point now where I'm ready to abandon network TV and just go with cable. I have no interest in reality TV and I love shows that have no commercials and aren't ridiculously censored. I think what I love most about Deadwood is that I'm a huge western fan and it really feels like the true wild west, and not the clean Hollywood version.
