Ferguson was best player Detroit had

No, it really wasn’t. Ferguson had ahold of the mask and was pulling straight up. He didn’t need to do it.
I think he was talking about the needless hands to the face that offset what would have been a huge DPI near the goal line.
That was Ferg’s most blameworthy play, not the fumble IMO.

Ferguson is the worst tight end ever re-signed in Dallas Cowboy history.

Tyler Warren wouldn’t have fumbled
I'll give you this Ferguson < Warren, but Warren < Booker.

Also, who cares about Warren? He's not a Cowboy.

His production has fallen off in the Colts most difficult games. Last week he caught only two of six targets. In Week 13, he had 22 yards. The guy's not on Booker's level and he's falling off down the stretch.

which hands to the face?
Fergusson was senselessly strangling some guy when Pickens got abused on the goal line. It was of the flagrant variety on Ferguson's part.

I think that's why everyone's *****ing about all his boneheaded plays / fumbles when he needed to be clutch. That was a playoff game for us, and in modern Cowboy's fashion, Ferguson Cowboyed.

The no-clutch fumble would have been prevented by a more aware TE as well. Dude, needed to get down and not play hero ball.

I was strictly referring to the one in this video. that was a legal swim move and it cost us. that should have been pass intereference on detroit and we would get 4 new chances from inside the 5. we ended up with a field goal insteaf of a TD...so score became 37-30 instead of 37-34.

He’s a JAG and needs to be replaced. YET ANOTHER TERRIBLE CONTRACT DECISION.
Fergie's been good until now. He will turn 27 in January.
I say Fergie has 3 good years ahead if he can be coached up.
Did you see Travis Kelce's (36) horrible day last weekend? it happens to the best.
I predict Fergie will rebound nicely.

Look at Ferguson's decline closely and it's pretty obvious how bad he is. One of the league's worst fumblers, IIRC, the Fan said the only players with more fumbles the last 2 years are a couple of RBs who have hundreds more touches. One of the worst YPC among all TE's, pitiful YAC.

Another attempt to justify drafting a jag by giving him a nice paycheck. Reminds me of old dropfoot from a few years ago, cash in on one semi-respectable season so the Jones boys can keep thinking they know how to draft.

You do know turnovers are pretty much the only difference between good and bad teams right? He's altered the course of the game in two of our biggest losses this season.
It is definitely one thing but it's not "the only difference" between good and bad teams. Just going back to 2023 for instance, the top 3 teams in the turnover margin per game were the Giants 6-11, the Saints 9-8 and the Texans 10-7. The Niners who won the Super Bowl that season were at # 4 and the Chiefs who lost the Super Bowl that season finished 25th in the turnover margin per game. Jake has lost 2 fumbles this season, 1 last year and in 2023, when he also caught his so far career high 71 receptions, he had zero 0 fumbles! You are barking up the wrong tree and not worth calling him out on a thread! If it continues to be an issue, then we may have something to talk about!

7 fumbles in his last 25 games. Jason Witten had 9 fumbles in 17 years, if you still want to keep pretending this isn't a major issue. Fumbles lost? In other words, he had a hustling teammate to cover up his serial mistakes. 2nd most penalties of any TE. Ferguson's a total jag, provides almost nothing but dumpoff catches, while being no threat to the D. Kittle has nearly double the YPC. Almost any TE could come in and do what Ferguson does, and several rookies have this year, at a tiny fraction of the cost.

JF parlayed that 2023 season into the perception he's a good player, and our fool of an owner was eager to pay his own. He's average, at best, when other teams have weapons like Kittle, Laporta, Warren, etc. We still have a huge hole at TE, $50 million contract or not. It's easy to disagree with PFF sometimes, but their grade on this jag is spot on: below average.

Probably wouldn’t have this problem if they didn’t draft a bust in Schoonmaker in the 2nd round. Who is the TE scout? Who makes these decisions Will McClay? Just horrific at drafting anything outside of OL.
