Is there a volunteer list the men and women sign up for, a lottery-type process, or is it mandatory work, in addition to preseason and regular season games?
Does the league put together the crews, then direct them where to go?
If it's voluntary, do the teams pay the freight - travel, room & board, per diem?

IDK the exact process, but it sounds like the team hired them. So, sounds like sort of a side gig outside of NFL processes maybe?
