Few people are talking WR

This team needs another WR. Most everyone is mentioning/discussing prospects for rb and defense, but Dallas needs to address the wr spot in this draft. Harris is gone- we basically have just Bryant, Williams and Beasley. Who are some (realistic) targets for the draft, knowing we likely won't address it in the first 2 rounds but shouldn't wait until the final rounds either? (rounds 3 - 5 ish)

I'd like to know this as well. I haven't studied any receivers this year at all

I am already on the record that we need a speed threat for our offense to take the next step,i would be happy with Dorsett,Devin smith or Conley.

They've talked to Devin Harris - Oh State, Ty Montgomery - Stanford, and Conley - GA. Along with a couple of others that look like 6th to UDFA.

Unless Harris drops to 60, I don't think they address WR until 4th round at the earliest.

Devin harris will only be available after the NBA playoffs.

Drafting for Best Player Available is actually the wisest way to draft. I have a feeling there will be a couple excellent wr choices that are the bpa when we are on board but our focus on RB, CB, etc. will 'cause us to go another way. To an extent I'm okay with that because I'm caught up in the hype/excitement over the RBs as well... but it isn't wise. Given the above, we may be considering a wr come 4th, 5th round... Surely there will be a gem hidden in there that has fallen- wondering whom that (realistically) could be.

Apparently they are really high on Devin Street. He can play inside/outside and we know he can block, which is all he essentially did last season. If he CAN play, do you really want to spend a 3rd-4th rounder on a guy who may see the field 10-12 snaps barring injury. It's not like we're old at the position either. Not saying we should just ignore the position altogether but this should be really low on the list.

We still dont have a speed threat or a return man though.

Though the latter can come from a rb, wr, or CB.

I agree with you. But what's the point of using a valuable pick to add a speed WR who will be 5th(4th at best) on the depth chart? Then of course there's the running game and also Witten getting his customary 80-90+ targets. Barring injury, any WR they acquire now is not going to be a factor on offense for another 2 seasons.

That isn't true at all. Williams and Beasley are absolutely replaceable/upgradeable.

Our top 4 recievers are set. We can get another when roster cuts happen for our special teams/kickoff return guy. Or later in the draft with a 5th or one of our 7th rnd picks.

T-Will is debatable. He has the production of a really good #2, but he has his warts.

But I'd argue that Beasley is one of the best slot receivers in the game.

Williams maybe, but there are only a handful of players in the entire league who can be as effective in Beasley's role as he is.

I'm a Beasley fan, so get me wrong. I think the role he plays may be a little more productive than the player himself, however. Williams is also definitely not what one could consider a consistent weapon at the #2 spot.

Dallas may take a WR later in the draft but this is not an area of need for the Cowboys.

I'd be surprised if we don't take a WR at some point. It's a deep class and we have at least a minor need there (minor compared to many other positions) .
I guess it depends, as always, on how the draft falls. But there's worthy ones scattered all the way from rounds 1-7.
