Looks like Dalton was a dud and Fields did his damage late in the 2nd against the prevent and in the 3rd against scrubs (?). Fields started off bad but looked like he was getting into a groove. Looks like the Bears might have something. Maybe a better thrower but not quite the runner compared to Lamar Jackson.

"Not everything was perfect: On back-to-back plays in the second quarter, Fields threw a pass that easily could have been intercepted, then fumbled and was lucky not to lose it. But generally speaking, Fields passed his first test.

Perhaps more importantly, Fields looked better than Andy Dalton, who started the game, played two series, and led the Bears’ offense to two three-and-outs."

Every play by Fields against the Dolphins:

Fields still looked more comfortable buying more time either through a designed roll out or improvising. As opposed to Lawrence who looked a bit more comfortable in the pocket.

Fields holds the ball too long. Every dropback is four or five seconds. Basically never threw the ball down the middle into coverage. His touchdown pass was wide open. I thought he was pretty bad. But we'll see.

Zack Wilson looks like Troy Aikman. Lawrence looks like Dan McGwire, although not on every play. Trey Lance ..... did some things well, and got rid of the ball, although he ended up getting sacked four times. If Fields had played the Chiefs, he would have gotten sacked about 8. Mac Jones looks like Tom Brady. The 40 year old Tom Brady. Which is to say he looks like Bernie Kosar. That one is hard to tell. Don't know what that ends up looking like at full game speed.

I think Fields will have the best rookie year but not the best career.

Anyone still wondering why Fields didn't start over Dalton? Is it an offensive line issue? Or a QB issue?

9 Sacks. 9 Sacks is not an offensive line, it's a Rosie O'Donnell shopping cart.

Watching it on YouTube, the line didn't play all that well. But he did have time. And he did have receivers open on sacks.

I'm not a Fields fan. I don't think he's an NFL QB. But Miles Garrett was on him like stink on **** all game. He had no one blocking him. No QB is going to have a good day under those circumstances, let alone a rookie. I've seen QBs like Peyton Manning crap the bed in multiple playoff games when he had any pressure, let alone the pressure Fields had.
