One of the most recent rumors from one of our very own CowboysZone posters was a move up in the draft to select Oklahoma's RB Adrian Peterson. Now how many of you believe this to be true?

The source according to this poster was said to be reliable. I would **** my pants if this pipe dream in fact came true.

I don't see this scenario ever playing out, but how about some of you die-hards pitching in on this rather bold move.

I'm all ears.

It wouldnt take ware but I think it would take Julius Jones and maybe a second to Cleveland for the trade. Remember that JJ is a free agent after this season so they would have to sign him to a another contract.

IMO I think this would be great to get a peterson for a julius and second rd.

If you don't like the idea of trading up for AP just say it. No need to throw out such outlandish things like Ware needing to be involved.

If we were to move up that far, I would rather get Calvin Johnson. It wouldn't cost near as much to move up and get Marshawn Lynch if we were going to move up and get a RB.

I think Julius would indeed be involved in some kind of trade, along with a first day pick and some cash for the Cowboys to land Adrian Peterson.

Barber is too valuable at this point. Julius is still somewhat of an enigma.

Some cash? When was the last time an NFL team traded cash?

It would take no less than JJ, #22, our 3rd round this year, and our #1 next year.

He's good when he plays, but he can't make it through 12 games/season, much less 20+ games/season. Why would we trade up for that? I agree with the poster that said if we're trading up, it should be for Calvin Johnson. I live in the Oklahoma City area, follow OU somewhat, and don't want AD on my Cowboys team simply due to his durability issues.

I know the original question was "do you think the trade will happen?" I hope not and I hope that Jerry values draft picks enough not to make it happen.

Also, I haven't looked at the Draft Pick Value Chart lately, but I don't see even Cleveland giving us the 3rd pick in the draft for JJones, and our second round picks this year and next. That'd be pretty stupid, even for them.

First off here is an interesting site with lots of different mocks.
http://www.draftshowcase.com/links.htm

This site http://www.saturdays2sundays.com/mock.htm has the Packers taking
a running back with Ted Ginn being taken at 17.

16. Green Bay Packers: Marshawn Lynch, RB, Cal

A lot of people have penciled in this pick for quite some time now. Lynch would be great for Brett Favre and the offense in general, giving them someone they can hand the ball off 20 or 25 times a game. This would also be a significant upgrade of Ahmad Green.

If this scenerio played out would anyone trade JJ and a second or third to swap their 16 for our 22 to take Ginn?

Can't believe we even discussing this rumor. It would only make sense if all we needed to get/win the SB is a RB like Tony Dorsett (Peterson?). The difference on the draft value chart between #22 and their #3 is huge. We'd be mortgaging our future and limiting our ability to add those players (OL/WR/LB/NT/CB) who we need to become a legit SB contender. Let's get real here. This sounds like a proposal you'd see on Extremeskins board.

This was never a rumor. It was more like "listen to what I made up". We aren't moving up that much for brokeback Peterson.:lmao:
