I might agree if this franchise hadn't copyrighted the "failure from Team A reclamation system" that works out as often as France becoming a world power in the last 100 years.

Feeling political or something today? French geopolitical stature has nothing to do with Cowboys football.

We did rejuvenate Alonzo Spellman, Laraunt Robinson and Adam Jones career. Yo uhave seen first hand the development of Dez Bryant.

But hey lets spam neocon commentary and act like it is relevant and pretend that all the Cowboys ever do is fail.

If he didn't have the immense physical tools and the pedigree from college he probably wouldn't be getting the chance.

But the Cowboys have done well with less talented guys like Laurent Robinson and even George Selvie. I think you could lump Bernadeau in there also.

You were so close.

Then you mentioned Bernadeau.

Your pommel horse exorcize was magnificent but that dismount was shaky. The East German judge gave you a 2.4.

Marinovich never had game film showing he knew how to play. If you're comparing the two because they both were on NFL teams at one point in their lives then I'm with you.

Is this humorless Friday? Geez boys, this is a holiday. Lighten up.

Who else knew when they saw the thread title that this evaluation would be glowing praise? What a surprise!

Greg Cosell, the very respected NFL Films analyst on McClain:

"He’s been awful … Arguably the worst starting 4-3 middle linebacker in the NFL. He can’t move.”

That is meaningless without a link.

We at the *** don't have any humor that we're aware of. ***deadpanned***

Any further political innuendos will be treated with even less humor.

Then I suggest you look to the source of those, please.

This is pretty ironic coming from you

Where did you steal this thought from?

George Ingersoll I think.

And it is pretty obvious that I did not take credit for it seeing that I quoted it.

And please point out examples of me not at least trying to be empirical if you are going to claim that garbage.

I think most of those guys have Superbowl rings, and you forgot Charles Haley.

Not to mention, Marc Colombo played very well for us and so did Bleedslow. Drew's only problem was that he couldn't move behind, what was then, the worst offensive line in football.

If he plays at the Mike then he should probably lose a little weight, probably in the 240's. If he's 260 then he should be able to get close to that by the beginning of training camp. If he was moving like that a 259 then he should be just fine at 240.

Keeping his weight down would be good, but I'm not sure that 240 is realistic. He has a really large frame. His draft weight of 249 if probably more realistic.

Considering our running defense problems last year, I think I would like the middle of our defense to be a little stouter especially since our DT's will probably play a little lighter (at least at the 3 tech). I would like to see him stay at the 260 range and just rotate more to stay fresh.

With all due respect, if you feel differently than what the OP suggested, how about doing your own review and sharing. I'm all ears.

Or if nothing else else, address what he posted.

I don't have game rewind so I couldn't review his games even if I wanted to. But Cosell watches tons of tape and is very respected at what he does.

"He's been awful," NFL Films' Greg Cosell said. "He's arguably the worst starting 4-3 middle linebacker in the NFL. He can't move. ... He doesn't play with any quick twitch at all. He's almost plodding in his movements."

And for the record, I have no big problem with trying McClain. I think his attitude has been as bad as it gets, so for that reason I'm wary. But he did have talent so maybe it's worth a try even if it's a longshot. But I can't think of many 259 lb MLBs who excelled in this defense where quickness is of the highest importance. Maybe Urlacher. But I'd feel better about this if we were still in the 34.

BTW, I wonder if people know he also told his teammates, when asked "Do you even care" that he had "four million reasons not to care."

He also didn't get arrested for the window tint. He got arrested because he signed his name on the citation "*** y'all". And then insisted that that was indeed his name.

Yes, I'm not overly worried about him playing at 260. It's the over 260 that would be a problem. With a year out of football who knows where is weight is at this time. There was a report that he was working hard the past couple of months and was down near his college weight, but who knows at this point.

He measured 6-4 at the combine. Even at that number and weight of 250 his lateral agility is favorable at 4.38 shuttle and 7.16 3 cone, the latter pretty good and the former respectable. His explosion number, if that means anything to you, is 68 (reps+vertical+jump) is close to 70 which is also very good.

If he does lose a little weight those numbers may get better and that'd be a really good thing.
