ARLINGTON, Texas – The four teams that made the College Football Playoff are in the top five of the final AP poll, but two are behind a team that missed out.

Ohio State finishes the year atop the AP poll after beating Oregon 42-20 in for the national title Monday night and TCU, which demolished Ole Miss in the Peach Bowl, jumps up to No. 3 from No. 6 in the pre-bowl poll.

TCU was at No. 3 in the next-to-last set of College Football Playoff rankings but fell out of the top four in the final rankings after Baylor beat Kansas State and Ohio State beat Wisconsin in the Big Ten Championship.

Oregon finishes the year at No. 2 and Alabama is at No. 4. Florida State, which lost to Oregon in the Rose Bowl, is at No. 5 in a tie with Michigan State.

Here is the top 10:

1. Ohio State (59 first place votes)
2. Oregon
3. TCU
4. Alabama
5. Florida State
5. Michigan State
7. Baylor
8. Georgia Tech
9. Georgia
10. UCLA

In the end, they did not get it wrong.

FSU was probably not a top 4 caliber team, but you cannot penalize them for winning a national championship and then going undefeated again.

I don't think you can say this. Ohio State may have won it but that doesn't mean they would have beaten Baylor or TCU. I mean, they may have but then again, they may not have.

That's not too bad a of poll in the end.

I'm not sure the final 4 games reflected the teams overall, but they did on those given days.

TCU is as deserving as anyone to get the top "open" spot too, imo.

Sure you can. They didn't deserve to be there, I don't care if they were undefeated...they weren't one of the four best teams in the country.

And, not for nothing, but I don't really think of leaving them out of the playoffs as punishment. It's more like not rewarding them. Subtle difference, I know, but different nonetheless.

Elvis may have also dotted the "I" at half time.

NFL.com has a 2015 preseason poll already...lol
ESPN.com had one too, and Texas Christian was #1. That actually scares me because they won't be taking anyone by surprise next year.

but you shouldn't over rank them because of the previous year, not the same team.
