We trade down to the end of round one for a three and a four (it fits the value chart).

1. Wimbley/Lawson/Carpenter (OLB)
2. Andrew Whitworth (OT)
3. Pat Watkins (FS)
3. Todd Watkins (WR)
4. Kevin Boothe (OG)
5. John Chick (OLB)
6. Matt Bernstein (FB)
7. Steve Fifita (NT)

FA: Kurt Smith (K)

Why?

I think at least one of Wimbley, Lawson and Carpenter will be there in the 28-32 range. Tremendous value and it fills a need.

Whitworth is a huge, athletic tackle who put up great numbers at the combine. I know that we signed Fabini but he's no spring chicken. Neither is Flo, and you never know how he'll return from his injury. We lost Tucker to TB, so we need to add another OT anyway, and Whitworth is a huge upgrade in that department who will eventually start.

Pat Watkins is a freak, big and fast. He covers well and hits har, just the compliment we need to Roy Williams.

Todd Watkins is FAST, a young wideout who stretches the field. Both Glenn and TO are over 30. It's time to start getting younger at the position.

Kevin Booth is a big, physical, smart lineman, and we need a guard. With Petitti, our FA signings, Whitworth and Boothe, both the present and the future of the OL looks bright.

John Chick had 13 sacks and 19 of his 48 tackles were for a loss. He's big, 6-3, 265, athletic and explosive. He ran a 4.59 forty, has a 36 and a half in vertical, benched 30 reps and broad jumped over ten feet. I think he's a second day steal.

Bernstein is a huge mauler of a FB. We haven't had a blocker in the backfield like this guy since Moose.

We need a third NT on the roster, and Fifita is the prototype. Jeff Littlejohn is another option.

Kurt Smith's only job at Virginia was kicking off, and he did it better than anyone else in the country. 38 of his 66 kickoffs stayed in the endzone. I have no idea how accurate he is when it comes to field goals, but he's a weapon kicking off.

Is Billy (the Bang Cartoon Character) the GM making this draft? I must say I do not think Highly of it at all. The first round pick I could live with, but then I question the others. I like rounds 5 and 6 a little.

How about discussing what you don't like and why you don't like it instead of dropping cute comments and saying you "highly" disagree? Whom would you pick instead?

I would be ecstatic with a draft like that. I would prefer Davin Joseph over Whitworth but just fine with him too. Joseph can play G or T and has that versatility but Whitworth has more potential to play T at a high level. Love the Pat Watkins pick.
Don't know a lot about Todd Watkins, love Greg Jennings though. I don't know a lot about Boothe either but I do think we'll draft two OL this year.
Don't know much about Chick, I like Gocong more, he's a freak.
Love the Fifita pick, may have to come in the 6th though.

In Ireland we trust...

I would be like a kid in a candy store if the draft went like that. My favorites on that list would be
THe 1st 4 picks, and the 7th pick. I'd have to research the others. Good job.

Which is why he WON'T be available w/ our 3rd-rounder. I do, however, think Whitworth will be available w/ our 3rd cuz he's not a OLT in the NFL.....imo

I must apologize for my sense of humor.

Well as it as been said before by others; it is hard to evaluate a Mock without seeing who falls where.

With the first Pick 18, Assuming no one expected to go high falls (Ngata mainly) I would look for Winston Justice or Chad Jackson. If neither one of them are there I would trade down looking to pick up 1. McNiel 2. Winston 3. Jason Allen, but I could be happy with any of the LB picks you listed, but hesitate at drafting a LB here.

With the second my problem is that Whittworth is a RT, well Rob is a young RT we drafted last year. It is hard to build a team when you decided you do not like the pick the year before and re-draft the position. I think Rob well be our future RT. In drafting a Tackle in this years draft I would look for someone who can play the Left side or look for a Guard (Gilles, Spencer, Lateui) or FS or if Watson NT is still around.

3rd round I just do not like Pat Watkins, there was even a poll on this a few months back, I feel there are at least 10 safeties in the draft I would take ahead of him. This is were I would take my LB drafting Stanley McClover
As far as Todd Watkins goes, I have no real trouble with the pick, but would rather take B. Marshall or Colston a round or two later.

The later rounds are not bad, but would just fall differently based on the different picks in the top of my draft. I like the Chick kid; for some reason I really like Jason Hunter of of Appl. State.

So here is my Mock
1. Winston Justice
2. Jason Allen
3. Charles Spencer
5. Marques Colston
6. Jason Hunter
7. Steve Fifita

I'd love to see the draft fall your way, but:

1. Justice will be gone before #18.
2. Allen will be gone before #49.
3. Spencer will be gone before #80.
5. We need a speed receiver.
6. I'd LOVE to nab Hunter in the 6th.
7. And Fifita in the seventh.

As far as Whitworth goes, he can play either side, back up both and take over for Flo when the time comes. I think you're putting a lot of faith in Petitti.
