We cam easily open up cap space for murray. No problem there.

Moore has not out played carr. If so then he would be on the left side besides the nickle. People like moore just because he's out played people's expectation. He's not good. I would let him walk besides giving him 2 million.

You should stay away from SEC because Dallas has the past 4 years. Claiborne was the last sec player they drafted.

Also other teams are doing the same early. Sec players are coming in beat up and the sec isn't a big passing league. Doesn't translate to the nfl as well anymore

so you would think its better to restrucure ourselves upto the hilt and thus land ourselves with problems further down the line?

cars stats in 2014-
games played/started-13/13
pass deflections-6
forced fumbles-0
fumble recoveries-0

sterling moore in 2014
games played/started-13/6
pass deflections-10
forced fumbles-1
fumble recoveries-2

You can't compare a nickel corner vs a corner that starts every snap and lines up vs better wrs. Moore doesn't line up every snap and vs the better wr like carr does. That's like comparing dez to beasley

Well thats my 25 comments posted so im celebrating with a mock and fa breakdown
im using the cap calculator at over the cap to work out my finances and its all assuming marinelli comes back next year.
Free agency
currently we sit 2.2mill under the cap for 2015-thats with doug free and henry melton options being taken

1st and foremost im going to make brandon carr a june 1st cut.I thought about sitting him down and talk him into taking a paycut but his play just does not warrant it so far this year nor any other year he has been in dallas.
And i think the greater role and level of play he has performed given that larger role show that we have a good cb on our hands in sterling moore.
Saves me 8mill vs the cap in 2015 so 10.2mill available to spend

Im now sitting down with doug free and henry melton im telling them im not taking up the current options on there deals BUT i do want them back next year.
I offer free a 2year deal worth 4mill a year (he would then count 7mill vs the cap in 2015) saving another 4mill
melton i offer a 3 year deal worth 6mill per season.saving me 3mill vs the cap.Is essentially a 1year deal with a 2 year option-buys us a season to see how coleman and bishop progress

so far im sat at 17.2mill under the projected cap.
Now im restructuring Romo to the tune of 10mill-this makes him uncuttable until after the 2017 season.
Im also doing the same with tyron smith-10mill restructure

Now we are sat 37mill under the cap

Rolando mclain-its got to be for minimal guarenteed money, maybe a 2 or 3 year deal just so we can be sure his head really is screwed back on to football.Although his level of play has been excellent this season i dont think there will be a long line of teams willing to offer him a big contract given his history.
Im going for a 4mill cap hit

Ron leary-no brainer really for the deal we can get him on,making him an erfa means we can keep him for another year whilst paying him pockett money.
ERFA-$585000

Sterling moore-Another no brainer if you ask me,get him tied down for 3 or 4 season though this time please.
2mill cap hit n 2015

(lets put it this way-the 8mill saving from carrs june 1st cut pays for these 3)

Durant is next on my to sign list, rod likes him and his injury this season was a blessing in disguise as it means we get him for a real good deal.It also gives us a strong quarter in the lber department with lee, mclain, hitchens and durant.
2mill cap hit in 2015

Cole Beasley gets brought back as do tyler clutts and nick hayden (its pre draft and a 1 year deal which makes him a camp body)
Im sayin 3mill will cover all 3

Now for the big 2
ive got 23.4mill remaining with 5.5mill of that required for draft picks (and remember carrs 8mill saving doesnt come of until june)

Demarco murray-i think he walks,some1 like the raiders, jaguars or browns are going to offer him big money.Im pleased for the bloke,he deserves it after the season he has had but im not willing to match it.

Dez Bryant-He wants alot of money, and rightfully we dont seem to want offer him to much in guarenteed money so its a stand off and dez gets the tag.If we are truelly serious about the change in the approach the fo seem to be taking over the past couple of years then it would probably be a tag and trade-the seahawks gave up a 1st+3rd and 7th round pick for percy harvin and id expect dez to fetch atleast that much.

Free agent acquisitions

Jabaal Sheard-Sheards best season in the nfl was his rookie season where he played end in the browns 4-3.Since then his numbers have declined mainly in my opinion due to the browns reverting to 3-4 system where he plays olb.I offer him a 1 year deal with a team option for a further 3-much like we did with melton albeit for different numbers.

Roy Miller-im offering roy miller a 2year deal similar to the 1 he signed in jacksonville. He as plenty of experience playing the 1tech in this system and splits reps with josh brent.I no everyone is screaming for suh or fairley but put it this way-if we went after either of them it would probably meaning losing dez for nothing and miller Is the kind of under the radar guy we have targeted the ast couple of years think mincey, selvie

Mark Ingram-Im well aware that jerry would love ap to be a cowboy, but come of it.Do we really think we can get ap for 2 or 3mill a year?Ingram is a good runner, milk him for a couple of years and buy ourselves some time rebuild this defence and much like the doug free deal it buys us 3 drafts to find suitable replacements

Now for the draft (im doing this assuming we pick around 24th and without using additional pics we may get if we end up tagging and trading dez)

1-Dante Fowler jnr-Hello pash rush

2-Malcom Brown-dt-Result,we get an absolute beast. He can play 1 or 3 tech but long term i would love to see a brown/crawford pairing for the cowboys with depending on how they continue to develope coleman and bishop backing them up.Rod said last year he wouldnt use a 1st rounder on a 1tech-but that was when asked about jernigan. This guy is not timmy jernigan. He is 1st round worthy. Also makes hayden and terrell mclain expendable so saves us almost 2mill vs the cap.
im tempted to take him in the 1st,but some drafts recentlyhave him falling to us in the 2nd-walterfootballs friday draft had him falling to the bottom of the 3rd.Massive value here

3-Quandre diggs-im happy heading into the season with scanderick, moore and patmon as our 1st 3 corners.Im also still hopeful that claiborne will turn it around but i no miracles dont grow on trees.Diggs is decent value here with plenty of upside.

4-Derron Smith-headed into this season he had the most interceptions in college football at 11,unfortunately he was surrounded by sub par talent on the fresno defence this season and thus his draft sock has slipped,he could well turn out to be the centre fielder we have so long desired, and at the very least he makes heath expendable

Good post, but way too much for Melton and Free. Let them move on. Re-sign Parnell and use the other money on a free agent DE.

Also, they need at least a mid tier free agent CB, IMO. Maybe a guy like Buster Skrine unless they can find somebody better.
