Hypothetically speaking, the cowboys can afford one top tier free agent, and still manage to sign ware long term. Who do you sign - Peppers or Haynesworth? Who do you think would improve our current defense more?

we have used five draft picks on olb since 05. 5 picks on 3 players.

If we have to go out and spend a boatload of cash for another OLB, which I presume is what peppers wants to do stand up and rush then we are in big big big trouble.

maybe I am wrong and peppers wants to play end, but that wouldnt make much sense. Neither does paying for an OLB.

Haynesworth.

Peppers does seem to get "lazy" at times. Haynesworth just continues to motor. Plus with Haynesworth we could move Rat to end and not miss a beat should Canty leave.

Hey Hos. Do your "Mod" thing and make this a poll. Would be interesting to see the outcome.

Unless he's being dominated in which case he'll rip off your helmet and stomp a few cleat marks into your forehead. :laugh2:

If this were 1990 and we were running the 3-4

OLB - Ware, Peppers, Spencer, Ellis
ILB - James, Lewis, Burnett, Polk
DE - Ratliff, Canty, Orlovksy, Bowen, Hatcher
DT - Haynesworth, Spears

Tough call. If you get Peppers you're saying that Spencer is a career back up or moves positions, unless Peppers stays at DE and obviously he wants a 3-4 to play OLB.

With Albert the tough calls are will he still play that hard after getting a deal AND can he play NT in a 3-4 as opposed to DT in a 4-3.

At this minute I'd probably take Peppers over Albert but that's only at this minute. I could be thrilled either way.

Neither

Haynesworth - Can't get past the on-field violence against Gurode. Also, I wonder how much of this past year performance was contract-driven.

Peppers - Same concern. How much of last year was contract-driven. It bothers me that he made such a drastic jump in production after such a down year. It's not that I don't think he can play, I just wonder.

Peppers...don't think Haynesworth would be nearly as effective as a 3-4 DT.

I'll try to keep my fantasy Madden dreams in check and say Haynesworth, since we did lead the league in sacks last year.
