The reason I picked Haynesworth is that most QBs hate pressure coming up the middle and it's easier to overload a side and send pressure from the corners, but pressure up the middle is hard to achieve even via blitzing.

Exactly.

I saw Big Ben moved up the middle to avoid the outside rush too often. You have a QB pressuring NT in the middle and Ware on the right side, and you automatically know the quarterback has to roll left. You can defense that easy.

Haynesworth. Oh, and if Gurode can forgive him, so can I. It wasn't my face he stepped on.

Peppers.

I believe Haynesworth will go back to being a very good to solid player instead of being dominant once he gets a big contract.

Considering we have Spencer, I go with Haynesworth.

Ware - Spears - Haynesworth - Ratliff - Spencer

I think Dallas already has good outside pressure so I would go Haynesworth on the inside

i say peppers because he is big enough to play as an end in the 3-4, with the pass rushing skills to to play olb. You have a young pro bowler in Ratliff.

Going with Peppers you have 3 pro bowlers instead of two.

Ratliff, Ware and Peppers, with a very talanted spencer that can develop.

I like Peppers I think Dallas can put the outside rush on now and Spencer entering year 3 should not need more time to develop. I will say I don't expect Haynesworth or Peppers to be in Dallas. Only big time contract I'm expecting out of Dallas right now is Ware. I expect both Haynesworth and Peppers will both see big pay days themselves just not in Dallas

Sorry to derail the thread but more than a DT or OLB we need a Dawkins/Polamalu/Reed-ish safety flying around wreaking havoc on the field and that's where I spend for an impact player.

Haynesworth is quite possibly the most dominant defender in the league.

Haynesworth, easy decision but it aint gonna happen and neither is us trading for Peppers.

You guys need to seriously stop having wet dreams about other teams free agents. What ever happened to building through the draft???

Hypothetically speaking, the cowboys can afford one top tier free agent, and still manage to sign ware long term. Who do you sign - Peppers or Haynesworth? Who do you think would improve our current defense more?

You can't ignore the financial side of it.

I choose Ware.
Yes, he's already ours, but because it will cost us a lot to keep him. But he will be worth it for many years. Unlike a Peppers or a Haynesworth, Ware is a bright future.
Those two, Peppers and Haynesworth, both got to the point where their salaries outmatched their skills.
We don't need that type of spent, too-expensive athlete. Better a hungry young player to groom for the future.

Has anybody ever asked Haynesworth if he would consider playing NT in a 3-4? That's more work, less glory, and he's known to be a tad lazy. I doubt he would even want to take it on...

Haynesworth. Run stopper and pass rusher. I still have nightmares of Stephen Jax having almost 200 rushing yards on us last year!
