Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Los Angeles Chargers. Philadelphia Eagles.

That’s whom the Dallas Cowboys defense will be tasked with stopping the first three weeks of the 2021 NFL season. And it’s the Cowboys’ performance in those weeks—against the likes of talented quarterbacks from 43-year-old Tom Brady to 23-year-old Justin Herbert—that will indicate whether ex-Falcons coach Dan Quinn can succeed as Cowboys defensive coordinator, nine-time Pro Bowl pass rusher DeMarcus Ware says.

“Last year, they didn’t mesh that well,” Ware told USA TODAY Sports this week over Zoom. “Now, you have a new coach coming in. Who are going to be those established leaders? And then going forward, how are you going to implement that during the season and play lights out? I look for that like the first three games: how guys actually mesh, how many mistakes they make, how disruptive the defense is going to be.

“That’s going to be a little telltale of how the season’s going to go.”

Other than being a divisional game, the Eagles won't be anything special. If the Cowboys can't beat them then just forget 2021.

Brady's Bucs are the defending champs and Herbert is the real deal (we'll see if they give him a defense). If the Cowboys defense gets torched by Brady and Herbert in consecutive losses then the SB talk needs to end immediately. If they can do enough to help, what should be, a potent offense win then we'll have something to discuss.

Folks shouldn't be talking superbowl regardless of those games until Dallas can get out the divisional round.

Tired of all the talking about special seasons and they fail to make the playoffs........ be about it and not talk about it....... just my broken opinion

So, no talk until January, if they earn an NFC title game? Damn, that is strict, IMO.

Be about it as a fan? I feel like that’s talkin crap, being hopeful and confident about the team you root for.

Unless you’re just positive they are crap. And I don’t think there’s reason to believe that. Given we had one of the best offenses pre losing our QB and presumedly will again.

Oh well, I get people are tired of not winning as much as we’d like. We all are and I guess we all handle it differently.

I CAN NOT ****ing WAIT!!!!

Last year was so bad for me. Just didn’t seem like a real season from the start. Then we lose Dak and it was miserable.

Very true. I gave up hope much, much earlier than typical. It wasn't fun watching them without any real hope of making a run. You knew when Dak went down no matter how much the defense pulled together we had a very low ceiling.

The only difference between Philadelphia and the other three teams in the division is that they have a coach no one knows anything about and that makes them a complete wild card. On paper to me they look like they are going to be able to run the hell out of the ball and if they do this will make their offense very good. No idea on their defense, it's never really that good just like much of the rest of the division.

the schedule sets up nicely for them in december and I don't think they are the garbage everyone thinks they are.
