First 3 Games Will be Telltale

Be about it as a fan? I feel like that’s talkin crap, being hopeful and confident about the team you root for.

Unless you’re just positive they are crap. And I don’t think there’s reason to believe that. Given we had one of the best offenses pre losing our QB and presumedly will again.

Oh well, I get people are tired of not winning as much as we’d like. We all are and I guess we all handle it differently.
Guess i didn't make it clear but I'm not talking about what fans say. They can talk all day about it but how can they be about it if they aren't the ones playing? Read everything i wrote and not just a portion.

I'm talking about the players every year saying it's going to be a special year and nobody going to stop them and blah, blah, blah. Dak, Cooper and Lamb have all said this crap this offseason. I'm saying they need to show it instead of talking about it every year and not getting out the divisional round.

Folks shouldn't be talking superbowl regardless of those games until Dallas can get out the divisional round.

Tired of all the talking about special seasons and they fail to make the playoffs........ be about it and not talk about it....... just my broken opinion
The players can be about it. We have no choice but to talk about it. That's all we can do since they won't sign me to play.

I CAN NOT ****ing WAIT!!!!

Last year was so bad for me. Just didn’t seem like a real season from the start. Then we lose Dak and it was miserable.
Im right there with you!! Unfortunately, some fans can't wait to spread hate and negatives. At least wait til the games start.....

Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Los Angeles Chargers. Philadelphia Eagles.

That’s whom the Dallas Cowboys defense will be tasked with stopping the first three weeks of the 2021 NFL season. And it’s the Cowboys’ performance in those weeks—against the likes of talented quarterbacks from 43-year-old Tom Brady to 23-year-old Justin Herbert—that will indicate whether ex-Falcons coach Dan Quinn can succeed as Cowboys defensive coordinator, nine-time Pro Bowl pass rusher DeMarcus Ware says.

“Last year, they didn’t mesh that well,” Ware told USA TODAY Sports this week over Zoom. “Now, you have a new coach coming in. Who are going to be those established leaders? And then going forward, how are you going to implement that during the season and play lights out? I look for that like the first three games: how guys actually mesh, how many mistakes they make, how disruptive the defense is going to be.

“That’s going to be a little telltale of how the season’s going to go.”

How would anybody disagree about this? At least Tank is speaking and calling out the defense to play. The defense needs this. Put this in 3 inch letters and post on the door going out to practice each day. The offense needs to be added saying no more fumbles ( Zeke this means you) no more drive stopping penalties OL and stop the sacks. Quit missing FGs outside the 40. Then everybody will be on notice..the entire team has to be put on notice everybody is on notice to come together and forget the old issues.

Put me down as someone who thinks we struggle the first couple games. New Defense, Dak knocking rust off, etc. With that said, I predict a good roll after the Chargers. Like 4 or 5 wins in a row.

Totally disagree with this take. An NFL season is a marathon, not a sprint. We have a new DC and staff with a new defense. It will take some time for them to jell together. Dak's coming off a season where he didn't play the last 11 games so he as well will take a game or 2 to knock off the rust. Now the haters and quitters will be calling for the team to tank after the first loss of the season.

Self pity is also a personal choice.

Fortunately, I don't suffer from it.

There's a wide gap between self-delusion and self-pity. It's called rationality. You should give it a try, sometime.

Could've fooled me.

As long as I don't see the likes of Andy Dalton (gone, not forgotten), Ben DiNucci, and Garrett Gilbert playing QB I'll be fine.

I remember the team starting out at 3-0 just a few years ago and I think it was Sam Darnold and the hapless Jets who exposed the Cowboys as nothing but a bunch of chumps. All hat and no cattle.

Seahawks were red hot first part of the last season and then the wheels fell off.

It is about the players and not about Dan Quinn’s scheme. A coach is supposed to design a scheme around the talent.

Coast to coast in back-to-back weeks should be taken into account when considering the difficulty of the Cowboy's schedule. Week 1 against the defending champion Bucs is not an easy opponent to beat, especially in their home stadium, then having to travel cross country to play their next opponent, the LA Chargers is a challenge in and of itself. Thankfully the team stays home and gets an extra day to prepare for their week 3 opponent. Playing Philly on Monday Night Football to open the 2021 season to the Cowboys home crowd will be interesting, to say the least

I disagree with the OP's premise that these first 3 games will be "telltale" for the Cowboys season. Playing the Champs in Florida and then the Chargers in California 6 days later is a brutal itinerary. I think it is a recipe for 2 losses and then the Cowboys will be put in the position to win at home to save their season against a divisional foe. They should win that home game but being 1-2 at the end of 3 weeks is in no way the "telltale" of their season.

The good news is that since Brady left the Pats, he has lost every opening day game! It's a lock :) ha ha

also Dallas hasn't lost to Tampa since october of 03. The game in tampa where Gruden called a flea flicker from johnson to johnson and it was the big difference in the game, Gruden did it to show up Parcells.

also that game warren sapp whipped Larry Allen and Parcells was like uhh what was that in the post game when asked.

So McCarthy has a nice streak to break right off the bat this year. Nearly 20 years of winning over Tampa probably coming to an end.

It will take more than the first 3 games for a new defense to gel. I'd say the first 7-8 games will be a work in progress.
