I'm not worried about the defense. They'll work their way into a 'nice enough' groove. Even years we had damn good defenses(2009), they started slow.

I'm rewatching it right now.

Rams are getting rid of the ball very quickly which is negating the pass rush.

The run defense was more worrying than anything.

the problem tonight looked like tackling. Guys were in the spot to make a tackle and just did not.

thankfully the front line players particularly Sean Lee are excellent in this regard.

as far as the pass rush I don't see how anything good or bad can be taken from this game. It was snap, step and throw for the rams.

I think pass rush is going to be week to week and kind of all over the place this year. The tackling has to be better. No excuses for wilber and hitchens to not make tackles.

I imagine they tackle really well friday because it will be drilled into their head all week.

One game but the first feedback on the DEs was as many feared.............. not good enough.

Most of them didn't play.

We are very deep inside on the D line. If just one other guy can put it together on the outside to go with Lawrence, we will be alright.

Same boat...but did watch Thornton while he was in...Not impressed. Irving scares me @ LDE. I just don't think he has the instincts. He needs to keep his head on a swivel. Too many times he was faked out w/ dummy hand fakes and ended up giving up the edge. That should never happen. That's 101 football. Keep containment... Was hoping to see more out of Coe. Thought he might be a keeper..but he is Ken Bishop 2.0....just runs out of gas after the first series. It amazes me year after year it seems like this team is so out of shape come the beginning of the year...but everybody tows the party line.."we are working so hard".

I believe they mentioned he is the nephew of the late Junior Seau, HOF LB. He definitely played well and probably won a roster spot.

Thorton was very good buy most are down on that one play that went for a TD.

Just remember guys this was the first real action since last season and the first for many. Our ends struggled and I expect that to change when guys start getting healthy. Tons of guys were out this game and it's preseason.

We have some tape now so let's improve from those mistakes. Just wrapping up will help with tackling but others need better technique and more assignment sound. Overall not bad, 24-7 in first half but outscored 21-0 in 2nd half. Depth needs to be better, offense and defense
