Top 4 picks should be spent on Non injured. Non druggie. Solid defensive players. After that they can get cute with WR's TE and RBs
it is the NFL draft not a grocery store brother.
you don;t get to pick the position and then just draft it.
you gotta marry team needs with player evaluations and values.
reaching is how you get hosed over badly.

maybe thus means they expect to re sign Carr and Claiborne........

If that tweet is correct, I have to think they expect both Claiborne and Carr to return, AND they expect to draft a CB high in the draft AND they expect Brown to be a starting caliber CB next year.

I really doubt they aren't targeting a FA CB unless all three of the above are expected.

This is a really deep CB draft.
I believe Dallas will resign 1 of Mo/Carr to start opposite OS with Anthony Brown as your 3rd guy when OS moves to the slot.
They'd probably like to draft a guy in round 4-6 to be back up and perform much like Anthony Brown did last year.
But I don't know tif hey feel from the early board stuff that a CB is gonna fit at 28 or 60.
Dallas has made CB a far easier position to play with some of the recent changes. -Adding Bryon Jones at Single High, playing lots of zone, getting so much speed at LB.

I think the draft board is a complete guess until a couple of weeks prior to the draft, but right now it does seem like there will be a chance to add a good CB and edge rusher at 28 and 60.

I don't think that's true for NFL teams. Pundits and draftniks, yes.
I think they have basic stuff done for NFL teams.
Guys get moved around a bit but believe in those offices at the Star they have a pretty good idea of guys in pools such as R1, R2, R3.

We've been told 90% of the grade is college tape and that's been done.
Teams are meeting with guys and such because they have an interest in them.
They can't identify interesting players without doing a decent amount of the draft ranking work.

I meant its a complete guess for fans like those of us on this message board.

And the teams have a good idea of where they rate a player, but they are still evaluating where the player will fall. For example, last year the Cowboys had Maliek Collins rated as a first round talent but knew he would drop to the 2nd or 3rd round.

Yes, I cannot agree more about this.... Im tired of us grabbing Injured players/problem players....

We are in a window where we need to win! Enough with this "Well jolly gee he could be a player in a year if he ever gets better"

Our strongest core which is our Oline if fixing to hit its prime years and we still cant field a defense that can contain a QB even one that was hobbled up

Break open the checkbook and lets make a run

I don't mind the 1st round talent with injury/character concerns in the 2nd. It hasn't always worked out but getting Gregory at that slot was a risk worth taking. Jaylon would have been there in the 3rd but then you lose Collins. Rather has taken Myles there and tried to get Jaylon later.

From what Jerry said in that recent interview, I took it to be Kellen Moore.

It appears that the success they've had with Dak has gone to the FO heads and they have become the 2nd coming of NE and drafting
QB's will lead to draft pick riches. Kellen is probably not the worst option if he only has to start a game or two but, if Dak were to go down
with a broken arm or leg, the season would be over quickly. Of course, when the pickings are lean and cap space small and building a War Daddy
cap chest for next year, sugar plums are dancing in Jerry's Johnny Walker Blue eyes.
