Fisher has a fifteen minute section on 105.3 at roughly 7:15p - 7:30p M-F.

Today he spoke about the offensive line and Waters. He suggested with Leary out for a scope that they should be moving to sign Waters quickly. He also stated that with every phone call they make to Waters his price inches up.

However, one of the hosts on G-Bag Nation said they should make every effort to sign both Waters and Moore. He continued by saying they needed to call back and sweeten the pot.

Fish said that would be about 5 million of the 7 million cap space they have. And that there is Lee and Dez and Smith who are in line to be redone.

The Host stated that this is a make or break year and every effort to get the line right should be taken.

The one curious thing was that Fish did not shoot them down about Moore or the fact that he retired. He rolled with the question and answered it in a context of a possibility it might be possible.

Now this is merely speculation, but if this were possible, and I were the GM, I would immediately rework someone else and get that done.

I think there will be a ton of people being re-upped or released next year. I think the opportunity is now for this team if they can get solid play from the line.

I want to win, and frankly win now instead of making plans for tomorrow that might not come. But that is my opinion only. And I did read the story about Moore and his decision.

Moore had his chance. I would rather have Leary there on the cheap. I'm fine with bringing in Waters.

What about trying to sign lee and carter? Next year? Why break the bank now. Not like Bern isn't playing decent.

1. Bern is trash

2. What happens next year is next year's issue. This is about this year.

The pieces are in place right now and with a potent defense and an offense that can protect Romo, this team could be a viable football club for the NFC berth in the Super Bowl.

This is about now, not tomorrow.

There's always an excuse for doing as little as possible along the OL.

I want you to imagine the same situation but at ...~gulp~ ....cornerback.

See the urgency now?

I would rather win at almost any cost instead of playing the hurt feelings card.

You must be mistaken. The "hurt feelings card" you talk about is more of a "I want football players who love to play the game" card. Your winning at any cost sounds good, but makes us more financially strapped. If we pay 2 guards a decent amount of money to start, wth are we gonna do with Leary? Leary is starter material who will be ready by week 1.

So several scenarios.

1. Win Super Bowl w/Waters and Moore. Worry about next year, next year.
2. Moore turns the team down. Leary and his degenerative knee issue comes back as a starter and roll the dice.
3. Do nothing and rely on Bern who is a wasted slot.

2 and 3 have a possibility of winning it all, but my opinion is it is less than having a line that can flat out be a wall for Romo or road graders for the running game.

Leary would be a great back-up without relying on his busted wing as a starter.

Now this all may be pie in the sky. I was reading something into Fish's comments that didn't shoot down the idea of Moore and however slim a chance it is for him to reconsider his position.

But I want to win and am tired of watching Romo be a tackling dummy for the other guy's defense.

Moore's heart is not in it. Money is not the issue there, he just does not want to play.
You absolutely do not want that on your team.
Let the man enjoy his family.

As for for Waters; I think they'll sign him soon.

I read the article and disagree. His continued comments about putting his best effort forward is something that goes a long way if he were to change his mind. That day of reckoning may still loom out in the future with the reality of his football days being over and it hitting home.

He sounds like a very balanced individual and if he changed his mind, then your argument would seem moot to me.

I recall Dallas trading for Haley who was a cancer on the 9ers. Deion, who was the most self centered player I have ever seen. And TO who may have rivaled Deion, but surely was the most petulant individual to play this game.

In all instances the team got serviceable years out of them.

This guy fits none of their molds.

Yeah, but what else can they do at this point? Offer more money? Okay, but then you have a guy who really doesn't want to play, and is only here for the size of the paycheck. Not exactly a recipe for success.

What are you talking about? They went after and offered both Moore and Waters. What do you want?

2 1st rounders in 3 years. Year before they signed the best free agent tackle on the market. Sandwiched between those 1st rounders they brought in two interior lineman who they thought could work well in their system. All the while they have developed a number of capable swing guys in Arkin and Costa and developed a legitimate starter in Leary an undrafted guy.

If you think the team has been doing "as little as possible" you simply aren't paying attention or you have an agenda that you can't let go of. Do you have an agenda Risen?

Bernadeau and Livings were whiffs that should have been evident to almost anyone who has ever seen a football.

This is about now, not tomorrow.

This is what we did when we traded for Galloway and Williams. Not to mention drafting a "complimentary" back along with a special teams draft with a win now mentality.

You have to find a balance between both and I think we are better off building for the future with Lee and Bryant rather than Bryant and Waters. Bryant will hopefully have a career year and he will get what he is owed. If Lee is healthy and contributes like we know he capable of, he will command a good amount of cap space as well.

Over priced Vet < impact LB.

The O-line will probably be our #1 priority in next years draft, I hope.

Anything short of enduring another season where we still can't block, pass protect or score.

2 out of 3 of the above and we win 3 more games than last year. 1 out of 3 of the above..we drop deeper in the cellar.

It's the owner's choice.

Right, signing two linemen is the same as giving up draft picks.

Close, no cigar.

No chance Moore is coming back....from reading the article I got the impression he had retired long before he announced it a week or two ago. I don't think he had put in any of the work and his comments about coming back were about getting shot up to play.

Haven't heard any discussion of that about Waters and that Waters has kept himself in playing shape. I think signing Waters makes sense if the powers that be feel that he can still play.

If he can't, I am sure the same people that are screaming for him to be signed will be the same ones dissing the owners.

We're not going to sign two veteran OGs. We do need one, though, if Livings is officially out of commission. Signing Waters, if he plays at a high level, gives us a young up-and-coming player, a quality veteran, and a pair of interior swing players who can play C and OG on game day in Mack and Kowalski. That's a pretty good setup for the interior OL until next season when we can draft a young RG candidate to develop.

I'm still anxious to see what we've got by way of OT depth with Parnell working his way back in. I wish we had a fourth OT we liked available to us if we lose one.

One interesting thing to note, signing Waters might make Costa expendable. I could see a trade for a player or late pick to a team like Denver who'd probably be interested since they were lining up for a deep playoff run before they lost Koppen, who was himself supposed to be an injury replacement for their starter. I could see squeezing a 6th or a player out in a deal like that if we wanted to then pickup an OT (Jeremy Trueblood, anybody?) as an 9th OL after cutdowns and go heavy elsewhere at RB, WR, or TE.
