Fisher on Murray

Murray shouldve taken that 4 yr deal dallas offered

Thats not smart when you can get more money in the open market.. This is a business at the end of the day Negotiate because as soon as your not producing your out the door, i have no problem with any player from any team even the Cowboys for getting there money best believe the owners gonna get theres

Patriots arent going to break the bank on any RB

That's the point. No one with exception to perhaps the Raiders will "break the bank" with any RB. I don't think Murray will receive any significant $$ contract, perhaps somewhere between top 5 to 10 RB $$'s in the league. Those teams I mentioned or perhaps Dallas will provide a modest offer and he'll have his choice. All that said, isn't there supposed to be a very good RB class coming in this next draft?

You do realize that's the same dumb guy who was smart enough to shoplift right? Randle will never be a good full time back in the NFL!!!!!

There are already reports circulating; rotoworld, PFT, espn, etc etc...that next years starting RB is not on the roster..

Not much of a college guy till around draft time but man, could you imagine 16 from Ohio State running behind our line. I just love a smaller compact guy with a burst and he sure looks the part............not sold on Randle.

RB is the most replaceable position on the team. Look at some of the starting RBs this year who had great seasons, outside of the usual suspects... Justin Forsett, Jeremy Hill, CJ Anderson, Lamar Miller. Behind a good OL with a good passing game (both of which we have) there are a lot of cheaper RBs who can succeed here. I love Murray, but if I'm spending money, it's on Dez and the defense.

LMAO!! Not wanting Demarco back?? What are you guys nuts? I don't want to pay him top money either, but I want him back. He's the reason we were here in the first place! Anybody that thinks we can just plug anybody back there and be same are foolish. (I remember everybody wanting Hambrick in for Emmitt as well) The dude is a 5 tool player at RB. By the way he's only 26, not 30!

Murray is no Emmitt, I don't recall Emmitt putting the rock on the ground in big games. Just sayin

The Vikings might have something to say about that.

AP has stated he wants a fresh start and the vikes don't want to deal with the media attention he will bring. He may not come here but he isnt staying there. Murray will be a Colt and AP will be wearing the Silver N Blue next year. Mark it down.

Is there a specific date where Murray becomes a free agent, or is he one now?

Id rather have Gurley from GA.. he return kicks ( so in crucial parts of the game i would give him an opportunity cause he can take it to the house) and pretty much in the open field he's gonna score and run threw tackles and has vision... hopefully he falls in the 2nd round which im hoping for..

Except for fact he would be barely 1 yr removed from his ACL tear. A vet team couldn't depend on that from the beginning especially with RB being so integral to the offense.

as long as we are and should be now building or defense i think joseph Randle can improve and develop even more and handle it the carries untill Gurley is ready. if anything Randle will make us more explosive which is y i think we can afford to wait on gurley i'm sorry i believe what what my eyes saw for 3 years at Georgia in SEC alone not including those big out of conference games with GA oline, which is simular to a college version of Dallas oline because they are really good imo... which is y this is perfect to me because if he drop who ever gets him i think they will have 1 in Gurley even after acl injury just my observation translating from college to nfl with our dominate oline.. but i doubt we get him just wishfull thinking

@fishsports says Cowboys are not even close to prepared to break the bank for Murray, they have a policy in place

Good..............let the fumbler go play in Jacksonville or Tennessee next year..............I literally hold my breathe every freaking time he carries the ball, swinging it around in one hand like its a freaking loaf of bread.

I have seen kids playing RB in pee wee football secure the ball better than Murray does, seriously.

We are a bunch of self-hating Cowboys fans sometimes....

Nobody "hates" Murray, in fact almost everybody has said that he had a great season and they appreciate his effort this year. However, there is a business side to things and after Murray fumbled away our season, it is now time to talk business.

The bottom line is that Dallas is not going to pay Murray $8 million a year like Jaamal Charles got from KC, its just not happening..............that's not hating on him, that not being rude to him, that is not being disrespectful to him, that is business.

The team is thinking that $4 million a season + a defensive free agent (JPP, Suh, ect.....) is a better investment than blowing their wad on Murray and addressing the defense only through the draft.

Now you can think that is a stupid plan if you want, but apparently that is "the policy" the team has adopted and it has nothing to do with hate, it is just simply the way the team wants to conduct business going forward.

I still think his fumble cost him millions wether here or with another team. Now I see his age, the way he slowed down and lack of breakaway speed and think it would be a very bad move to give him a big deal.

You are right, that was the biggest most expense fumble in his entire life, dating back to pee wee football probably.

If he hangs onto that ball and runs for a TD, we in all likelihood win the game and advance to the NFCCG...........the team or any potential suitor would be much more willing to fork over the millions watching him basically win a playoff game by himself.

But the reality is he fumbled the ball and we lost and don't think for a second that Dallas or any other team is not thinking about that when discussing what type of offer to give Murray.

Like you said, that fumble costed Murray millions and millions of dollars and probably going to be the reason Dallas lets him walk..............fumbling away a playoff game is almost unforgivable.
