I'm sure he wants to play for a contender, which Philly is.

I'm sure after the Eagles heard about the Fitz deal, that they are ready to make another offer to the Lions.

When did this happen? If you mean he wants to play for a contender to the bottom of their division, then yeah, I guess you're right. But he can get that by simply staying in Detroit.

This isn't 2004. Westbrook is nearing 30, McNabb's knees are shot, his career is over.

You have no leadership on your defensive front 7.

This is Dawkins last year.

You have 3 corners, 1 who is incredibly pissed which will cause friction in the locker room.

Your receivers compare to Atlantas and Minnesotas.

Your offensive line is old and injury prone.

Your TE cant catch a cold.

8-8? A contender, :lmao2::lmao2::lmao2::trophy::suxiggle::lombardi:

Wow I must have been sleeping the last couple of years. Did I miss something?

You didnt miss anything bdc.

But clearly Timbo does not abide by "would you actually say that to someone in person".... the anonymity of the boards doesnt let you see that he is not serious.

Philly have missed their chance IMO...when they lost T.O. they lost their shot at winning.

What are you talking about?

Yes, they did miss the playoffs this year, but if I remember, they were 10-6 the season before that.

Even last year, they lost a lot of close games. (example-away at Green Bay, NE/home against NYG and Chicago)

It's not like the Eagles lost anybody in Free Agency, but acquired one of the top CB's in the league and added depth at DE.

So keep dreaming about the Eagles window closing....because it 'aint happening!

Sameul is a top QB in the league in a zone system.

The Eagles play man, nice try though. Samuel was the 3rd best FA on the market, when Asamougha and Trufant were franchised the Eagles had no choice but to gun for Samuel.

And the Eagles window HAS CLOSED. Your shot knee QB isn't getting younger. Hes the key to your success, and frankly, his career is over.

They're soon to trade away Lito Sheppard and are replacing him with Samuel. An upgrade? Probably.

But not big enough to turn 8-8 into a 'contender'.

Depth at DE?!?!? Some guy the free-spending Raiders didn't want?
Excuse me while I quake in my boots!

I remember hearing the same line when they signed 'The Freak', how'd that turn out? Oh yeah, that's right......

Keep dreaming about winning anything.........because it ain't happening!

You're right. The Eagles are shoe-ins for the Superbowl this year.

Funny how everyone is a superbowl contender in the off-season.

Wow, why would he do this? It doesn't make any sense for Fitz. If he played out the contract he would get $32 million over 2 years and then hit the FA bonanza in 2010 which is a potential uncapped year with deep pockets like JJ and Snyder bidding for his services.

Fitzgerald's site says that he'll get $30 million guaranteed, and $33 million over the next three years.

Something about the inclusion of "no trade clause" and "Arizona Cardinals" in the same sentence makes me laugh uncontrollable. :lmao2: :lmao:

Where have you been Timbo, Roy wants to come back to Texas. He played at UT and all his friends and family are here in Texas. He comes back to Texas in the offseason.

Anybody with half a brain knows that he is counting the days till next year when he is a free agent and can come back to Texas, either to Dallas or Houston.

He could care less if Philly is a contender or not, he wants to come back home to Texas. Sorry Timbo, looks like you are SOL!!!

You had a lot of close games.....whoop de doo!!!

Put that in your program.

You signed Samuel to replace Lito, I sure he is happy that you have pimped him to ever team already. Wash out at best.

You lost Kearse and Spikes and swapped out a corner......wow, impressive.

The Eagles also WON some close games they had no business doing so(i.e. the J-E-T-S thanks to a bad non-call on Curtis' TD, Vikings, 2nd Skins game thanks to Gibbs playing not-to-lose, the 2nd Dallas game b/c Romo had a rainy day, and they didn't look all that good against the Bills in the last game). Oh-the Bears were playing without half of their D(including a bunch of rookies in the secondary)-how the heck did they lose to THIS pee-wee squad?? And oh yeah-if McFlabb plays in the NE game, they would have gotten destroyed(No wonder why Reid held him back with some phantom injury).

And as for "one of the top CBs in FA"?? You're kidding me, right? For one, the Eagles had MARCUS TRUFANT FIRST on their radar(before he got tagged, that is). And two, NE plays mostly Cover 2(with their corners playing alot of outside technique)-don't think for a minute Samuels can all of a sudden become some brilliant man-man corner. He doesn't even like contact to begin with.

For the record, even the J-E-T-S lost a ton of close games last year(their only blowouts being against wk1 NE and to us on T-Giving). Otherwise-I find it hilarious how Eagles fans keep saying they ended up losing alot of nailbiters last year(i.e. meaning they were somehow COMPETITIVE in the process).

Again-the J-E-T-S lost a bunch of games they had no business doing so(3 of them being against NFCE opponents, BTW). And for that matter too, the Fins lost some 8 games by a FG or less.

I don't see how $33 million over 3 years beats $32 million over 2 years with FA in 2010. Even if there is a cap, the franchise tag for him would be $21 million.

The only reason I can come up for him taking the restructured deal was he wants to stay in Arizona and wanted to give them cap relief to strengthen the team's efforts in FA.

I guess it's hard to fathom that somebody might actually like playing for the Cards and wants them to succeed.

They spotted him an extra 10m non-guaranteed, which if the salary cap keeps rising, it'll be a drop in the bucket in two years.
