Between Rick Gosselin's Top 100 list and the Top 100 list from ESPN.com's Scouts Inc., we got five players who were listed in the top 98 on one list or the other. Gosselin had Carpenter 18th, Fasano 54th and Hatcher 88th. And Scouts Inc. had Watkins 78th and Stanley 98th (they had Carpenter 30th and Fasano 48th).

So, maybe Bill and Jerruh are good at this? Ireland did his job? Not if you ask the naysayers!

I like this draft. Not as good as last year, but we only had one first round pick. Who is this years Chris Canty?

Montavious Stanley. That guys is built for the nose, and he plays with a high motor. I never heard a more excited player to be drafted by the Cowboys and he was a 6th rounder. If Ferguson doesn't shape up, he could lose his job to this guy in a year.

Yeah, Chris Canty was a first round player that slipped to the 4th because people thought his injuries would be cause for concern. He was rated higher than Marcus Spears....

Hell, even Kevin Burnett could have been a first round draft pick had injuries not curtialed his college career. Too bad they continue to hinder his pro career as well...

I agree. Stanley is probably the best value (6th rd) in our draft.

It would have to be either Watkins or Stanley. Though neither measures up to Canty I think we got both of them as real bargains. Either one or both could be starting for us within two years and I believe that both will be making significant contributions this year.

Think Coleman probably starts because of all his NFL experience, even if most was at CB. But Watkins has a lot of tools & it will be real interesting to see how much/quickly he develops. Understand he has a chip on his shoulder cause he wasn't taken on the first day and intends to show everyone he is a legit first day player. With that attitude he certainly will be working hard to get on the field as soon as possible. He's also described as an "elite" ST player.

I think 1 of Cowboys preseason games will be televised nationally so I will get a chance to see how our new rookie draft crop measures up.

Watkins must have just missed Gosselin's Top 100 (which was the most accurate for the fourth consecutive year at 87 percent). He had Watkins rated as the 10th-best safety, and his top nine safeties were in his Top 100.

He didn't have Stanley ranked high.

No Hatcher?

Hatcher was a late-rising sleeper (he didn't go to the Combine but was very impressive in individual workouts).

A correction: Hatcher did go to the Combine. One report I read said he did not, but he did.

Skyler. He'll be the next Kelvin Martin, not fast, not big, but every time he touches the ball he can take it all the way. He will give Crayton a run for the 3rd WR spot. and will certainly return punts and KO's
